THIS is by far, one of the MAIN reasons why I love this dude.

I love the fact that he is unashamed to SHOW his love and affection, and MAKE TIME for his WIFE and his CHILDREN. And, it's a HEALTHY family.

If Obama, whose schedule is off the chain and regulated down to the second, can make time for shit, so can we (myself included).

He values his woman.

He values his children--who are girl children who will become women.

Women take note: Compare this man to someone like Clinton. Or Bush. Or Reagan. All of these men had girl children. Remember how they turned out--or didn't...

Matt Drudge is touting the results of a one-day sample in a Zogby poll, which apparently showed John McCain ahead by 1 point.

There are a couple of significant problems with this.

Firstly, there is a reason that pollsters include multiple days of interviewing in their tracking polls; a one-day sample is extremely volatile, and have very high margins for error.

Secondly, the Zogby polls have been particularly volatile, because he uses nonsensical party ID weightings, which mean that his weighting process involves making numbers doing naughty things that they usually don't like to do.

Thirdly, Zogby polls are generally a lagging rather than a leading indicator. This is because he splits his interviewing period over two days; most of the interviews that were conducted in this sample took place on Thursday night, with a few this afternoon. The reason this is significant is because lots of other pollsters were in the field on Thursday night, and most of them evidently showed good numbers for Obama, as he improved his standing in 6 of the 7 non-Zogby trackers.

Finally, there was no favorable news for McCain to drive these numbers. Polls don't move without a reason (or at least they don't move much).

Really like this guy's priorities--grandma and his kids on Halloween, the best US holiday.
My only qualm is that it is still light out---the effen squares are winning. My favorite Halloween treats were cup cakes and carmell apples. Because of perverts and deranged people, non-corporate food is prohibited. This is sad and insane.

No rest until kids can trick-or-treat with out parental supervision, and only at night.

In a healed nation, this would be a reality.

I live near Old Town Alexandria...Obama/Biden Signs outnumber McCain/Palin signs almost 5 to 1.

In Old Town that's something, because that's where Old Money in Alexandria is and they're usually ReThug supporters.

Virginia's Schoolchildern Vote -- The Churchill Road Example
Virginia let its schoolchildren vote in a mock statewide presidential election this Wednesday, and here are the results from the most affluent pubic elementary school in Fairfax County, Virginia.

Churchill Road Elementary School is just one place of learning, but the person who e-mailed me the tally, a prominent Republican, expected that kids would choose John MCCain.

448 chose Barack Obama and 270 chose McCain.

Obama won every grade level. This is interesting... not significant...but interesting. if you assume that kids pick up their political cues from their parents.

Fairfax County is one of the wealthiest counties in the Nation, Rikyrah. Average household income is $90K a year, and that's ONE PERSON, so a couple is hauling in twice that to be considered lower middle-class.

Interesting, but ... my sixth grade, in 1988, chose Jesse Jackson in a landslide, in a mostly rich conservative town in what is now Michele Bachmann's district.

That said, I really hope you're right. I've got some pretty long-standing republican family in VA, and they're talking about not voting in this election. They were Nixon people twice, for Pete's sake-- there is nothing I can do to persuade them to vote for a democratic candidate-- but they're not remotely excited about McCain.

Not voting works in this case.
