He tried to campaign at an auto plant, and he was virtually chased out by a large group of Obama supporters among the auto workers.

Nope, if that was any indicator, his ass was grass in Michigan.

Take it from me... He's out of Michigan. There are no more commercials on TV. My sister passes by a McCain campaign office in Oakland county on her way to work and she says its closed... Campaign signs and placards are still up, but its basically shuttered. Because he bought into public finances, he has to pick and choose where to spend his limited resources, and Michigan ain't it. Plus Detroit started voting early and the turnout was the highest in the history of the state.The McCain camp saw the writing on the wall.
