Watching this clip I was like "something is different about this"...it's the fact that it's about mature conversations, where both sides were allowed to disagree, and the view could make their own determination. Wow, I really hope this style of news comes back. I am SO SICK of what we have right now.

Wow! Rachel Maddow landed a verbal Irish Catholic school slap to Frum's mouth! I'm sure after the "verbal dialliance" with Maddow, Frum spent an extra 15 minutes looking for his face.

It seems that the Republicans got drunk off of the Palin's, Coultier's, Malkin's and Hasselbeck's of this world to the point where they believed that EVERY white woman -- regardless of sexual orientation -- fit neatly into the "mother/whore" image of conservative women. Guess again...

I'm so glad she finally got her own show! And while I enjoy Keith Olbermann, I adore Dr. Maddow because she doesn't shy from having guests on her show whose views are directly opposite of hers.

Frum acted like a child who says, "But he did it too!" as a defense when he/she gets caught doing something wrong. So typical of the Rethugs. He knew there was nothing he could do to defend McCain and his camp's behavior.

So John Lewis calls out Obama, and the McCain people demand that OBAMA be held responsible and must apologize

but

if a mob screams KILL HIM! or OFF WITH HIS HEAD! McCain has nothing to do with that and shouldn't be held responsible for what somebody else said.


For once, I'd like to see Obama say "Hayle Naw I ain't apologizing for what {insert black person here} said. Go ask them for an apology." If you start apologizing once, they'll keep expecting you to do it.

But the piece de resistance was the next segment when Rachel flat out called Palin a liar. At the end of the show had to get off the couch and give Rachel a standing ovation. The woman is 20 kinds of brilliant.

And another fucking thing: He's sitting there, in all seriousness, insisting that if Rachel were serious she'd have Paul Wolfowitz come on her show to lecture her (no doubt in a condescending, rude, insulting manner) about foreign policy and nuclear issues? Paul Wolfowitz?? One of the idiots who led us into the disaster in Iraq? The one who used his position at the World Bank to reward his little tootsie? Please.

But what is SO offensive to me is the look on that fuckhead's face and his instant attack on Rachel. And remember, this is the guy who wrote that book about Bush: The Right Man. And HE is questioning HER judgment??

The arrogance. It's intolerable from these people.

The arrogance of the Republicans is absolutely stunning. That smug prick can sit there lecturing Rachel ~ all of us ~ about the dangers of a Democratic president and a Democratic Congress? Give me a fucking break. His smug condescension is almost unbearable to watch. I don't know how Rachel managed to get through that, because I sat here wanting to strangle that pompous, arrogant fuck. And think about this: That is one of Bush's speechwriters. One of Bush's liars, because most of what has issued from Bush's mouth in the last four years? Lies. And he has the gall to sit there and lecture her, to lecture all of us about tone and about seriousness? Oh. My. Word. Unbelievable.

Simply put, this dude got owned. She sonned him with little effort and deflected his (not so) subtle jabs with the finese of Ali. She exposed his little tactic, difused his aruments, and promptly dismissed him. If that is not ownage, then I don't know what is.

When I first heard that Rachel would be gettig her own show, I knew that she would have a liberal perspective and frankly I expected her to be Olberman lite (and I like Kieth). Oh how wrong I was! Some of these other Op Ed news shows could learn a lot from her. She showed that you can disagree with a guest with out shouting him/her down (I'm looking at you Poppa Bear O'Rielly), and end up looking like the better person for it. You go Rachel!

I think she was a little too defensive when she tried to justify her show's intentional sarcasm when she rightly addresses the outrageous ridiculous things Palin, etc. say in media clips on, how would you say, SERIOUS questions of the day.

I think she had a tough time keeping her exposure with Frum passive-aggressive, condenscending and arrogant attack. He was on his high-horse in a freakin' basement looking up to Rachel on the main floor with a looking down on her attitude. And I'm better than you attitude as he tried to claim a moral equivalence to the conservative nastiness and intolerance to any views that aren't and Rachel's calling bs for what it is bs and, by golly, she has the nerve to laugh at their stupid azzes thinking they can get by insulting our intelligence.

Yeah, she totally OWNED him. He was asking for it and she gave it to him. You're right that the other shows could take a few pointers. I think the difference with Rachel is that she can be both entertaining and logical at the same time. Certainly not the case witht the Hannitys and O'Reillys of the world.

And, really, after all these years of their politics of meanness... they want people to go easy and them and play nice. Now they want to call a truce... Man, they lucky Barack Obama ain't a brother like me...
