Three words, I -love- Oprah…I was at the Columbia rally last December. I was already for Obama anyway, but man, that event was something else. Oprah is just as brilliant as Obama in her own right, and they both recognize that perceived overkill is not good. This man is no ordinary candidate. You see the grief he's getting for his infomercial (which I was glued to the tv). They know exactly what they're doing. The Obama campaign is run like a well oiled machine. They don't need to bring Oprah out in front again. She's playing her part where she needs to.

Oprah does'nt need to say a word at this stage of the game, given she has been one of the most 'powerful and influential' persons to promote him during the primaries. That was worth a million plus votes.

She also understands that detractors are looking for 'stuff'' to further detract or throw at Obama. In this effort, commonsense rules.... and BO has proved he's ready for the task, its now the responsiblity of the voters to complete the 'run' and efficiently!

Who cares?
Oprah, like Ted Kennedy, stood up for Obama when it counted.
If she were to show up and start encouraging folks to vote for Obama now, it would give the media (such as The Morning Hos) something to bitch about in the week before the election.

I think at this point Oprah needs to stay down @ Harpo Studios. She would do more harm than good because the “celebrity” meme would get revived again. Nor do I think she should get some special kind of role in an Obama administration.

She SHOULD get the first interview with President Obama, though. :-)

At this point, Oprah would bring more harm than good. She did what she had to do and did it well. But now, she'd be a distraction. Mostly because she took a big hit among evangelicals and even some secular women who thought she was stepping off the… well. You get my point.

I agree with Miss Opinion–Oprah has done more than enough. If anything–her supposed restraint–has demonstrated to the MSM that she as an AA can endorse a candidate and not be “consumed” by it…you didn't see Oprah racing down to SC to criticize Billary's racism like you would see Liz Hazzelback rushing to defend Sarah against sexism.

As for a role in the Obama Administration, Barack said it best, “It would be a demotion…”

My own opinion…Oprah needs to keep her platform as long as she can. She just upgraded her studios to HD and something tells me, she's going to earn back her money on that investment.

I'm sorry but Oprah isn't going to help at this point. She did what she needed to do. No one is out there going “man I'm torn between Obama and McCain. If only Oprah would campaign some more to convince me.” This is no conspiracy. She did her part and should be respected. I know she's a major force but this is a stretch. Let's focus on somethig else.
