Noticed the same thing and the wording bother me, but the reason that people are trying to pin this spin on Obama is because they forced him into talking about a hypothetical. I knew he wasn't going to outright commit to public financing as soon as he said that it was an option that he was willing to consider, but he would not disarm unilaterally. The man is not stupid. Instead, he should have just said that he supports the purpose and the spirt of the law, but would hold out judgment until he accepted the nomination and considered his options.

And does everyone recall what happened a few months ago? Some Dems AND Republicans were fretting that Obama went back on his firm “promise” and said that he was being disengenous because there was no third party orgs that were going to release ads…once again…Obama was right, while everyone else was wrong.

Well, the next 8 years is a stretch. I am just looking to get through election and inauguration day. I think unless Obama turns the country around in the next four year he will definitely have to defend himself AGAIN during the next Pres election. They will still be asking, “Who is the real Barack Obama.”

And I'm not donating any more money! I was at a friends house and saw the OBAMA channel. Now I am seeing these preliminary figures. He is all set if you ask me! I am sure some Repubs will start donating to his campaign soon if they haven't already.

McCain doesn't have that many 527s really backing him…..and the GOP is trying to throw their money to try and save as many of their Senate and House races as possible. The corporate media could have helped McCain…..if it hadn't been for him and Palin, their campaign spokespeople, oh….and their surrogates….continously opening their mouths.

All in all it is pretty lopsided…… Because Obama has the money, but he has the brains….so that's like doubles his warchest, just on that alone.

Yeah, well you know Goldstein and the rest can't stand it. They want Obama to be limping across the finish line … but-they-just-can't-make-it-happen.

So any accomplishment or exceptional feat Obama's campaign makes, they have to diminish it, with some disparaging remark or caveat.
