I don't have video access, but just read a rush transcript of Michelle Obama's Larry King interview here
I am just so deeply impressed. Not one wrong note. Genuine, honest, clear.
What a fantastic, smart, centered woman she is.
Like just for example (really I could quote nearly the whole thing to show why I am saying what I am saying, but):
KING: .... The "Tennessean" is quoting Cindy McCain as saying that your husband is -- get this -- is running the dirtiest campaign in American history.
Now tell me you have no reaction to that?
M. OBAMA: Well it's just not true. It's a simple reaction. It's not true, and when something is not true, you don't take it to heart. You just keep rolling along....
[snip]
....When something's not true, you keep rolling. That's one thing my mother taught me. It's like, folks can say what they want, but you know who you are, you know what you're doing. And that's sort of -- those are the values that Barack and I were raised on. So it's easy to sort of plow through this process. And quite frankly, Larry, you couldn't be in politics if you didn't have a thick skin. There are people who say things. It's not -- this race just isn't about me and Barack. It's about something bigger.
and this:
KING: James Carville says, it's over. You're going to win. That's what he said.
M. OBAMA: Nothing has ever been that simple in this race. You know, it ain't over until it's over. We are going to run through the tape and there's still a lot of work to do. People have to get registered to vote. That's the first step. And we're encouraging people to go to our web site, voteforchange.com, to get registered. Then, there's early voting because we want people to vote early so that they'll have time to help others to vote. And then we've got to work on, get out the vote.
Because it's not just about winning. That's important. But it's about changing Democracy. We want these numbers of voters to be high because people have to pay attention forever. I tell people when I'm out on the campaign trail, we have to change the way we see politics forever. We can't go back to the way things were when we sort of voted and some people didn't and some people didn't pay attention. We have to be vigilant.
It's not enough that Barack wins. He's got to have an engaged electorate to help him lead and make the changes that we need.
Oh and of course this:
[video clip] SEN. BARACK OBAMA (D-IL), PRESIDENTIAL CANDIDATE: My wife Michelle is there and she could give you a much longer list than I do. And most the time I learn it by asking her.
(END VIDEO CLIP)
KING: How'd you react to that?
M. OBAMA: I thought, he's so cute. And I started going down my list.
(LAUGHTER)
etc etc etc
Just so impressive in so many ways.
caligirl
damn, i missed it! hope it re-airs this weekend...
i was raised on a "keep on moving" philosophy too. otherwise, u get so side-tracked by stopping for each and every little small thing, and you look up...you realise that you haven't moved an inch.

rikyrah: I'm glad that you picked a "contemplative" pic. Every day is NOT all smiles! They still have ta go through the CRAP that "McAncient", "The Gov.", Miss "whateva" cindy & the KLAN Repugs are SPEWING!! Arrrrggg!!
BUT, I'll send her an e-mail for encouragement!! :>) Still FIRED UP! READY TO GO!!!
Oh lord, I was watching CNN and had to turn the channel because they brought on that woman...Berry or whatever. Who exactly is she because I just want reach through the screen and attack her everytime I see her.
Does she have a position in the black community...an organization etc...She is on television condoning and justifying xenophobia and bigotry.
GreenLady... We both linked the same Roland source but I'm afraid I'm going to have to trump ya' (Palin *wink* lol). Mary Frances Berry, my beloved sister and elder, I'm sad to say, was apparently part of the "Hillary Clinton for President" campaign:
This might help shed light on where she stands and perhaps my blind searching, speculating about her pro-Clinton feelings were right or maybe its the "old guard" mentality that seems to come out here:
Mary Frances Berry... She used to be chair the U.S. Commission on Civil Rights gave Republicans/conservatives fits (read: Thernstroms), slapped the hell out of Juan Williams on Booknotes when they reviewed her historical account of Callie House creating the first mass movement for Reparations for slavery via ex-slave pensions. So I don't know what's her malfunction is lately (the Callie House book came out in 2005).
She's obvious lost some weight and her complexion looked darker than usual (don't know her medical history) and, frankly, she just seemed frail. I wonder whether she favored Clinton instead of Obama because of her women's rights history.

Nquest: Sorry to "nose" my way into this conversation, BUT. . .
I didn't like the way she treated Mr. Obama and I just think that she was an "OLD GUARD" HATA!! She really spoke harshly about him - for NO REASON!!
I don't like her!!!
She had beef with Roland Martin - see attached. He had ta put her "ON BLAST!" I wasn't blogging then, so I don't know the details even while reading the e-mail exchange. Sorry. :>(
In all actually or, rather, from what we can tell... MFB has both the O.G. Haterade thing working (see the spat about "paying dues" in the emails) and, perhaps, a long term relationship with or affinity for the Clintons.
GreenLadyHere
Nquest: Yes on both points. But with her credentials, I'm sad that she wouldn't use them to support Mr. Obama! She still hasn't been "full throated" [or partially- throated] for him! Sad But True!
It's all right. We family here. (see my revealing post above)

Nquest: Hey! Do you know how happy I am that I found this article? I just started blogging 7 months ago! I didn't know what the word meant in February! :>) :>) :>)
And I have had respect for MF Berry - "back in the day!" I was shocked when she came out for billary! I thought that she lost ALL her Civil Rights FIYAH and thought that she had "OVERCOME!" NEVA!! The song is still valid - SOME DAY!!
Trump ACCEPTED!! - Ya hear now **NASAL TWANG** :>) :>)
