She's supposed to be SOOOO “small town” and SOOOO “down home.” Small town down home Joe and Sarah Sixpacks do NOT wear Neiman and Saks. They're doing good if they get some INC on sale at Macy's. Since Sarah represents Joe Sixpack so much she needs to be rocking some Jaclyn Smith from Kmart, GEORGE from Walmart, Mossimo from Target and the latest collections from JC Penney's and Sears. Not Neimans. Not Saks.

Second, Susie Sixpack does not wear $30 eyeshadows from Chanel. She doesn't even wear $13 eyeshadows from MAC. Susie Sixpack picks up some Cover Girl or Maybelline and calls it a day. Sarah Palin should not be spending $13K+ on makeup when it looks like the same $3 plaster job that Myrtle in accounting wears.

Third, the Palin family should NOT getting a designer wardrobe makeover. What 7 year old kid needs a Louis Vuitton? If Sasha Obama appeared on the stage with a Louis Vuitton the Republicans would tear Barack & Michelle up for being bad, materialistic parents. The Palins are supposed to be down home, regular Joe the Plumbers, right? Then they need to dress for their station in life. Take Piper down to Gymboree or better yet the girls' department at Target and take Willow down to Forever 21. Get Todd a suit from Men's Wearhouse and call it day.

The Palins / GOP should not be looking down on the Obamas for being “elitists” when they are rocking wardrobes that would pay Joe the Plumber's salary for at least 3 years.

And they had the nerve to call Obama an elitist. Shaking my head.

BTW, Saks' stock is down 6.16%.

Also, I live in NYC, I am a freelance stylist and I work for a major fashion company. I am the one who does the trips for my boss and clients when it is time to buy outfits for appearances, events etc…I have never spent anything close to the amount that has been reported that the RNC has spent. The people at my company got a kick out of this earlier and I may actually blog about it later. I want to know what she bought! She probably went shopping with Cindy McCain.

I am not against expensive clothes. I am pretty over the top! However, I have not tried to behave like I am anything else.

She could have gotten her clothes from less high priced places and designers. She would have looked the same and would have been consistent with her rhetoric. It does not even look like she is wearing high priced items. I am sure the crowd does not care! So much for the small town hockey mom.

As Chris Matthews said, while they were buying clothes at Neimans and Saks, they should have picked her up a copy of the Constitution.

They should have been buying her books!
