Personally I don't think the crime deserves LIFE, but that's another example of our justice system. The CEOs who recklessly stole, manipulated, and lied to make their billions every year- deserve LIFE. They lives they have effected than the crime OJ's dumb ass (and other similar dumb asses) committed.

He got a second chance and Black America was behind him ALL THE WAY.

He arrogantly thought he could engage in criminal behavior and get away with it, failing to realize Johnnie Cochran has gone to that courthouse in the sky and the rest of the "Dream Team" his money bought back in 1995 probably wouldn't take his calls.

He's going to die in jail and there's no more golf courses or blonde bimbos. I just hope his children are old enough to do what they can with the rest of his estate, and not let Nicole's family get their paws on it, or Fred Goldman for that matter.

I agree with you Monie! Thats the thing about the situation. When really looking at the entire situation, I put my feeling that I have towards O.J. to the side. I look at this from the exact same perspectives that you and Evita has laid out. It is reflective despite the fact that it is centred around a very flawed individual.

Exactly, Evita. OJ's acquittal spoke so much more to the leniency/ special treatment given to celebrities when it comes to justice. It just so happened that OJ was a world-famous black celebrity who was accused of murdering his white wife, which infuriated white Americans and brought out massive polarization down racial lines—and to them his subsequent acquittal will remain the worst court decision in history.

Where was white Americans outrage at the acquittal of Robert Blake in the death of his white ex-wife….or Phil Spector's mistrial in the death of a white acquaintance at his home? Many white Americans may not have like those defendants as well, but their outrage was much lessened and almost silent. And to me that explains a lot about the perceptions and bias of many white Americans.

I agree with you. I have put my personal feelings aside when it comes to Orenthal because I realized from looking at the larger picture, that it is a refelction of our society and our justice system. But here is my thing, if OJ simpson was not jumping around and acting as if he were white and some how above the law, he would not have been in this predicament. He was given a second chance, something that most black people are never given. He is the shining example of what you do not do with a second chance. He blew it by giving white people something to convict him over. I knew he was done from when they arrested him; I knew he did not have a chance from the minute he was given an all-white jury. He should have laid low. Is he not aware of what it means to be a black man in America.?Did he not get it? Why the book, the insensitive jokes about the murders and trying to use force to get back his stuff?

Well, he has no black people backing him up this time. We frankly don't care.

As I keep saying, I feel sorry for him, he is 61 years old. The minimum possible sentence that they could give him will be life in his case. He will probably die in jail. There will be no blonde babes for his choosing, no golf etc... But as my grandmother used to tell me, "a hard head makes a soft behind".

The values you list to be considered a small business are gross receipts. Thevalues for taxes are income. I fail to see why small businesses or employees who make over 250,000 a year should not pay the same amount in taxes. The income is being taxed not the business.

The small business owner does have an opportunity to decrease income by investing in his business. The small business owner that earned over 250,00 has benefited form the exorbitant Bush tax cuts. The country is in deep debt and has some serious responsibilities in the future. The people who have benefited the most should begin to pay their fair share of taxes.

No matter what anyone says- the justice system is imperfect. Whites for YEARS have been declaring the fairness of the system. OJ's trial was such a travesty because for the first time whites felt like the system didn't work. But this is thing: people of color KNEW the system doesn't work. We don't trust it. We don't have faith in it. We have all been screwed or know of people who have been screwed for it. The OJ trial was for white people like recognizing there is not tooth fairy. Whites walk around believing in the toothfairy, easter bunny, Santa Claus… People of color were ALL TOO HAPPY to see whites get the smack we are all too familiar with.

Yeah he did it and that sucks, but for every white man that is not found guilty you have THOUSANDS of Black men being incarcerated. And no matter how guilty OJ is now, he was hunted like a runaway slave- similar to how Black men are hunted by the police in the hood NOW. Police are JUST WAITING for Black men to step out of line then they pounce. This issue is a reflection of life in a racist society- not one of special or different circumstances.

It really is a waste of time to talk about OJ, however, even though he is truly an ignorant black man, we still have to recognize the overt racism that has been used against him throughout this whole ordeal. 1) The fact that there was not one black person on the jury in itself screamed racism; 2) More than half of the jurors had the opinion that OJ was guilty of murdering his wife Nicole, however, they supposedly could set that opinion aside while serving on this case; 3) The judge's ego, meaning, she's the one who was gonna send this “nigga” up the river without a paddle to show his black ass what white folks really feel about him. It's hard as hell to feel sorry for him. I remember back at the first Million Man March, OJ had just been acquitted and he was invited with open arms to participate, and he choose to kick it with his so-called “white friends.” I am really mad and sad at the same time. Mad about his treatment, but sad that he's too stupid to see that he really doesn't understand, “They don't like your black ass and don't want black ass loose in society!”
