A black bourgeoisie perspective on U.S. politics
I’m performing in Reno this Saturday night and thought I’d put in a day of volunteering for Senator Obama. I just got off the phone with the local campaign office there to see what they needed. The answer: not more people.
“Unfortunately, we’re all booked up for volunteers this weekend. We’ve got over 1,500 people coming in. That’s about all this little town can take,” said the woman who answered the phone. “Things are looking good.”
Most of the folks are coming in from California, BTW.
So if you were planning to volunteer in Reno but haven’t confirmed with the campaign, head somewhere else. There are so many ways to conribute at this point. Here are a few.
