Washington is, as it happens, head of NFL Operations, basically the ExecutiveOfficer of the entire League. He's second in command to Goodell. So the notion of Rice becoming President of the 49'ers operation is not as far-fetched as it might appear. If the York Family needed someone to bring Operations and the Business end of the Club under one command, Condi would be the one to do it, and they'd have the blessing of the League front office.

As to handling the players, well, I think you understimate Condi's butch quotient. As a Republican operative friend of mine once said to me: “She is not a nice lady.”

President of the Raiders? You've got to be kidding. These guys would need someone who could hammerlock them daily. Condi's not that kind, even though she occasionally rocks black boots past the knee caps.

I've had an issue with her since reading excerpts from her book, where it seems she was thumbing her nose at the Civil Rights Movement. That really annoyed me to no end and I lost a lot of respect for her. Then came Katrina which further made me skeptical of her.

The notion being peddled on this site that Rice suffers from some sort of “battered woman syndrome” is a fantasy peddled by liberals who should know better. This is the woman who outwitted Don Rumsfeld and Dick Cheney. She is far smarter and shrewder than liberals think she is. Unfortunately, McCain got spooked by Mitt Romney's allies on the RNC.

That's how we got Palin, who is a very gifted candidate, but is about two years away from being anywhere near a threat to Obama.

The NIners need a firm hand at the tiller and a new Stadium in Santa Clara. A lot of speculation early on indicates that she would have a lot of conflict with the Red Guards that run the San Francisco City Council. That won't happen, since she would be responsible for raising money to move them South. There would be a lot of screaming from the Left, but once the Niners started winning again, that would end.

In football, all that matters is that you win. Especially in Oakland: Al Davis could hire Himmler to run that club as long as he wins.

And with her lack of action on Darfur and other events in Africa, she is even more of a joke on every level possible.

And Denise DeBartolo York, courtesy of her brother, Eddie, started the decline in the 49er Franchise when Eddie D got busted for some NFL conflict violation and had to turn the team over to his sister. She didn't know jack about running a franchise and in the end, his brother-in-law, John York, was put in charge and the whole franchise went to hell in a handbasket.

Condi couldn't do any worse than the York family did.

Who knows? After eight years of Bush, maybe she'll be different, but I highly doubt it. She's too used to toting their water, and maybe in the NFL, she'll get to tote her own water.

She can state she supports affirmative action NOW, because it's the end of her tenure in the Bush Administration, and they can't do anything to her. Why wasn't she speaking up about it in the midst of the shyt? That's what a Field Negro does – he or she doesn't wait for “safety”; they stick their necks out, usually when it isn't “safe” to do so. Colin Powell was very vocal about affirmative action, and just because he toted Bush's water did not shut him up about affirmative action.

Colin has endorsed Obama – Condi's quiet about the whole thing. Why is that?

I stand by my comment about how she didn't do too much lifting to help qualified minority kids, who didn't need any kind of affirmative action programs, to get admitted to Stanford. If things have changed, they changes since she LEFT.

I worked with Black and Latino Kids to get them into Stanford back in the 90s, during Condi's tenure. Go and look up those statistics of how many minority kids were in that undergrad program. 59% of the current student body are minority, I'm willing to bet 75% of the 59% are Asian students. If Stanford has achieved their “diversity” now, trust me, it was not done on Condi's watch, and that's why I made the comment I made.
