thanks for this. a huge issue, considering that Green is going to happen – check the trend in vc money. check all the billions about to be gangstered in cap and trade deals. but what's not guaranteed is that green will be equitable. we could still be left behind with such footprints on our faces as holding the worst asthma rates in the world among children… concentrated in low-income neighborhoods of color (not cities but blocks in Harlem, Bayview Hunter's Point (SF), etc. will be there.

Majora Carter is an AWESOME speaker and she is BRILLIANT. If JJP only know what she has done for the Bronx and for people of color!

Side note: I miss my locs. *sniff-sniff*.

On topic, I would be very interested in doing something like this in Dallas innercity neighborhoods. It's a culture shock because in Seattle, the green?environmental movement is powerful with recycling efforts.

i strongly agree. first saw majora carter on “big ideas for a small planet” on sundance channel. she's doing awesome, inspiring work!

Majora Carter is the Bomb…More of us really need to know who she is and the great work she has accomplished in inner-city, black, poor neighboorhoods…All 3 were considered to be non-players in the environmental movement and she has proved that these audiences do have a stake and will/do take action when they are effectively engaged.

Van Jones is also another Green Ghetto Hero. ***thinking to myself*** I must do a feature on each of them
