This speech made me realize that Michelle Obama is someone I would love to have for a friend, someone who would not shy away from hard truths, someone who would not compromise her values. This woman is amazing, both for her utter normalcy, her utter groundedness, and for her tremendous courage, grace and strength....she has been attacked in the most vicious ways in the months since that speech in Iowa. And yet, has she lashed out? Attacked back? No. She has been the epitome of coolness. If America is smart and elects her husband as our next President, we will get the best First Lady we've ever known, I think.
