I was just speaking with an older Gentleman tonight who said "This race isn't about me" and pointed to a group of kids. He said "it's about them and we have to understand that."

I often say my grandparents, and beyond, even myself have taken the blows so my kids will have an easier time.

I believe it we all keep that in mind on election day and beyond, Obama will be the next President.

Oh, that little boy is just SOOOO cute! And the look on his face–WOW! Every time I see a picture like that, or one of he and Michelle with the girls (heck, I'm calling them “the girls” like I've picked up two more nieces!) just reminds me how we don't see these images everyday–if ever–in the mainstream media. We know they exist, but to see it so openly…wow…

I agree w/ your friend. Obama and Richardson would be a dream ticket for a lot of us, but can you imagine two dark skinned men on one ticket at this time when we have those Obama waffles, “Minutemen” patrolling the border, immigrants being detained and beaten? What this race has proven is that racism is alive and well in America despite the millions of people who can see beyond skin color and ethnicities.

I think that even Richardson could see that… too much color this time around. But in the future, a Latino and a black or what about a black Latino (a Dominican or Puerto Rican) could very well be on the ticket… thanks to the effort of Obama and the team behind him.

Actually I would have liked to have seen Bill Richardson on the ticket, but a very connected friend of mine that is an elected official said the combination of Barack and Richardson would have been too much change for certain segments of this country at one time.

I think people from Latin America, Africa, etc that have emigrated to the U.S. support Obama, because they can see the American dream if you will in him. What America is suppose to be about; Love God, go to school, help the next man and your family.

I agree Rikyrah, whites better get a clue, Barack, a Latino, some person of color will be President and they just have to deal with it....But we can't let folks divide us....

I have been saying that all along… Barack Obama will increase the likelihood of there being a Latino president. There is so much the Latino community could learn from the African-American community about strategic organizing on so many levels.

My experience tells me that the Latino community is behind Obama nearly or over two to one.

I am Latina. Among my more educated peers, there isn't a hesitation in supporting him, but among those less educated, their support is lukewarm. However, I think that Latinos are voting the issues this time and the anti-immigration rhetoric, coupled with the bad economy, will work to Obama's favor.

I will say that Hillary (I never supported her or was a fan) did do a better job in Latino outreach initially.

The problem is that they're sending out real advisors, not salesmen. Was listening to an NPR interview — NPR! — and their senior economic advisor, Jason Furman, was just terrible on radio, using words like “ex ante” and not hammering home a single, clear, non-equivocal statement.
