Campbell was great with that Rothschild witch today! She didn't let her off the hook...calling Obama elitist. There was a SENIOUR advisor on Hardball the other day. First, Photenhauer appeared for McCain. Now, she's nasty...but she knows how to fight, and who to fight. Chris put her through the meatgrinder. Next, Chris had on the Obama Seniour adviser and she was so busy sassing Chris, she failed to see he was giving her a freebie. At the end, she didn't have her facts straight when Chris had to ask 3 times what income level you have to be to escape higher taxes under the Obama plan, and she couldn't answer clearly. She got the number wrong at the end!

I love this picture. It brought tears to my eyes. Thank you for posting. Touching and heartfelt. That little boy is our little boy. I can see so much hope in his eyes of the future possibilities that he may see the 1st African American President as well as actually witnessing President Obama.

I told a white friend who is Republican, that people aren't seeing the bigger picture when it comes to Obama. My nephews need to see this in their lifetimes, such as our parents have witnessed the impactful 60's.

Our men and women who are struggling out there need to see this, need to own the tremendous accomlishment that Obama has achieve, and believe that DESPITE the setbacks, they can believe and achieve their dreams.

McCain's answer yesterday on AIG was not an accident. Put bluntly, I can't see any evidence that he knew what he was talking about; nor any evidence that he wanted to try. This is a blatant moment, on tape, under urgent questioning from the media at a moment of crisis, and not only was his lack of preparation apparent but his attitude spoke volumes. This isn't a matter of left or right, of "gotcha" or "in the tank" or anything else — it's a matter of accountability at a pretty critical moment. It should be noted, and remembered.

This is a great diary about the "Wolf" ad.... I always believe the key for Obama is to hit emotional resonances with voters. Biden did it with the bit about the kid in school who mocked you when you wore something nice. If so would you say the Latino community will support Obama?

Where I am the Latino community has a complex regarding supporting African-American candidates, unless they are originally from NYC then they don't have a problem.

I think part of it because there is a power struggle between the African-Americans and Latinos here who tend to side with the Whites.

My experience tells me that the Latino community is behind Obama nearly or over two to one.

I am Latina. Among my more educated peers, there isn't a hesitation in supporting him, but among those less educated, their support is lukewarm. However, I think that Latinos are voting the issues this time and the anti-immigration rhetoric, coupled with the bad economy, will work to Obama's favor.

I will say that Hillary (I never supported her or was a fan) did do a better job in Latino outreach initially.

I wish someone would break it down for them...the sooner that there's a President Obama, it means that there will be a President of the US who is Latino. It just works that way. We do the heavy lifting, and the rest take advantage with half the work.

I have been saying that all along... Barack Obama will increase the likelihood of there being a Latino president. There is so much the Latino community could learn from the African-American community about strategic organizing on so many levels.

Actually I would have liked to have seen Bill Richardson on the ticket, but a very connected friend of mine that is an elected official said the combination of Barack and Richardson would have been too much change for certain segments of this country at one time.

I think people from Latin America, Africa, etc that have emigrated to the U.S. support Obama, because they can see the American dream if you will in him. What America is suppose to be about; Love God, go to school, help the next man and your family.

Obama and Richardson would be a dream ticket for a lot of us, but can you imagine two dark skinned men on one ticket at this time when we have those Obama waffles, "Minutemen" patrolling the border, immigrants being detained and beaten? What this race has proven is that racism is alive and well in America despite the millions of people who can see beyond skin color and ethnicities.

I think that even Richardson could see that... too much color this time around. But in the future, a Latino and a black or what about a black Latino (a Dominican or Puerto Rican) could very well be on the ticket... thanks to the effort of Obama and the team behind him.

I was just speaking with an older Gentleman tonight who said "This race isn't about me" and pointed to a group of kids. He said "it's about them and we have to understand that."

I often say my grandparents, and beyond, even myself have taken the blows so my kids will have an easier time.

McCain's take from the industry has reached $885,000, the center said.

I just love to see fathers with their daughters. You can just feel the love. Just like at the convention, all they wanted was Daddy. I think when people see kids are really excited to see their parents or Dad; it sends a message this person is all right.

Then I read about how, when McCain and Palin appear together, he hops up on stage and starts to talk, but SHE'S still down at the rope line drinking in the adoration of her fans, and that when HE tries to talk, he gets drowned out by chants of SA-RAH! SA-RAH!

Few days later, I read how, when he appeared for the first time without her, the crowds were so anemic that they had to wind the event down early. How the campaign was seriously considering the old Bush/Rove tactic of packing the venues with invitation-only partisan hacks, who then appear on the evening news to be simply common people who happen to adore their guy.

Have you noticed that since Miss Sarah came on the scene, Cindy's been dressing flashier and wearing more plunging necklines? Sometimes the cast is off, sometimes the cast is on? Brighter colors and fancier clothes? The school marm look has morphed into the Power Bitch™ look? That ain't no accident, Cindy is screaming for attention.

I will agree with this blogger, Cindy's got her knives out for Miss Sarah. Cindy knows all the tricks of the game (after all she used them to get John away from his 1st wife) and she's not going to sit back and watch Sarah snatch her place away from her.

Budweiser Barbie is not going to let White Trash Barbie steal her shine. So expect to see Cindy in all her fancy clothes, bright colors, plunging necklines and packed on makeup more and more "out there" on the campaign trail.

And while all of this drama goes on, it just makes McCain look more and more out of control of his own campaign. But this is what happens when you choose a VP just to win instead of to govern.

Women's Rights Group endorses Obama For President

Women's rights groups endorsed Democrat Barack Obama for president Tuesday, asserting the historic selection of a female Republican vice presidential candidate does not make up for John McCain's lack of support on issues important to women.

"We don't think it's much to break a glass ceiling for one woman and leave millions of women behind," said Eleanor Smeal, chairman of the Feminist Majority Political Action Committee.

Smeal was among leaders from six organizations that announced their endorsement of the Democratic presidential nominee at a news conference.

Obama also won the support of the National Organization for Women, which said it has not endorsed a candidate for president since Walter Mondale and Geraldine Ferraro shared the Democratic ticket in 1984. Ferraro was the first female major party vice presidential candidate.

I know you're not lying, because I had the same reaction. This picture punched me in my gut. Very few White folks truly understand what Obama is trying to do, even those who support him all the way. I believe Black folks understand just what he's up against, even the mofo haters. If Obama wins, it changes a number of things so fundamentally, but a lot of folks don't want to admit it. I believe Town is the one who said that every non-White person should be working their hearts out for Obama, because if he wins, he just made it 50% easier for the next non-White person. I agreed with that assessment completely.

In the past few weeks, Wall Street’s been rocked as banks closed and markets tumbled. But for many of you – the people I’ve met in town halls, backyards and diners across America – our troubled economy isn’t news. 600,000 Americans have lost their jobs since January. Paychecks are flat and home values are falling. It’s hard to pay for gas and groceries and if you put it on a credit card they’ve probably raised your rates. You’re paying more than ever for health insurance that covers less and less.

This isn’t just a string of bad luck. The truth is that while you’ve been living up to your responsibilities Washington has not. That’s why we need change. Real change. This is no ordinary time and it shouldn’t be an ordinary election. But much of this campaign has been consumed by petty attacks and distractions that have nothing to do with you or how we get America back on track.

Here’s what I believe we need to do. Reform our tax system to give a $1,000 tax break to the middle class instead of showering more on oil companies and corporations that outsource our jobs. End the ‘anything goes’ culture on Wall Street with real regulation that protects your investments and pensions. Fast track a plan for energy ‘made-in-America’ that will free us from our dependence on mid-east oil in 10 years and put millions of Americans to work. Crack down on lobbyists – once and for all — so their back-room deal-making no longer drowns out the voices of the middle class and undermines our common interests as Americans.

And yes, bring a responsible end to this war in Iraq so we stop spending billions each month rebuilding their country when we should be rebuilding ours. Doing these things won’t be easy. One thing I noticed when I look at polls' demographic breakdown: men and whites are more likely than other groups to vote for the third-party candidates. Those with privilege can afford to assert their "independence" and prove how they think for themselves. I agree with others here that the most important thing we can do individually is to keep making those phone calls and knocking on doors. But let's not pretend that media message isn't important -- we can't reach every voter, and part of winning entails getting undecideds to our side and pushing McCain supporters away from him, keeping them home in Nov or at least stopping them from talking up their candidate to friends/neighbors.

The problem I see in the blogosphere is taking potshots all over the place without any focus, which is playing directly into the hands of the McCain campaign. They know that message chaos benefits them, and a lot of their stunts were specifically designed to cut through the noise (e.g. "lipstick"). We don't have the same discipline, because, well, Democrats are so damned democratic.

I think it's time to end that and focus on a single, simple message. I happen to think it's "They'll say anything," but I don't care what it is -- I want our creative anarchy to be productive rather than waste energy going all over the place.

Sen. Macaca and the VA GOP reach out to all minorities (except blacks) for a "unity rally" to show them the GOP cares about them.

In other words, the GOP wants to get some of the minority vote in NoVa to stem the Democratic tide coming this Nov.

This "outreach" to non-Black minorities is nothing more than a thinly veiled attempt at attracting minorities who might harbor anti-Black sentiments.

Typical Republican division tactic.

Ya know, it just MIGHT be helpful not to have a "unity rally" for minorities....led by the guy who called an ethnic minority a slur. I guess George Allen thought because he was in Boondocks, VA and not in the United Nations of Northern Virginia that he could get away with calling the boy "Macaca" (even as the boy filmed him). Was there no one else in the Republican party of VA who could lead this rally?

Here's what I find funny:

Republicans have boosted their efforts to reach out to immigrant communities that traditionally have voted Democratic. To bolster participation at the rally, they are targeting Korean, Arab, Chinese, Taiwanese and Latin American communities across the county through phone banks and door-to-door visits.

Now, maybe I'm misinformed, but have the dhimmicrats of late had a more reliable voting block that African Americans?

We do know that 10% of blacks vote Republican. Why not do outreach to that 10%?

But perhaps to the VA GOP "unity" does not include black people?

And then they wonder why they never get a higher percentage of the black vote?

Are there not African immigrants? Scratch that, I know there are African immigrants in NoVA because I gave directions to a whole caravan of them this past weekend.

Numbers game: 10% of blacks in Northern VA doesn't translate into a win in an area that's 67% white, 14% black, and 24% Hispanic or Asian. Reaching out to the Hispanic/Asian communities lessens the number of whites you have to win over.

Doesn't make it right, but it is what it is.

(Besides, any black person in VA who publically shows his support for the GOP runs the risk of being shot....or at best, having his bumper stickers stolen)

That's because the GOP is represented by such lovely people as Sen. Macaca, who's been living in NoVa long enough to see exactly how many Asians and Hispanics are living up there. What black people want to be caught shaking hands with George Allen?

But the GOP should have been "reaching out" to ethnic minorities all along. Don't come stepping to ethnic groups a month and a half before the election saying "We Care." If McCain were leading Obama by 10-15 points in VA this ethnic "unity" rally would never be happening and we all know it.

I'd rather vote for Jim Gilmore than George Allen. I've always thought it was very interesting that Macaca Allen was the very next governor after Doug Wilder.

I just want to point out that the use of NoVa looks like no va and that in Spanish means "Doesn't go". I think most Latinos know that the republicans don't want them and theirs here and are not against posses and militias to do it. Not all but most, our failing economy mirrors Germany's failing economy of the thirties. Who is the scapegoat here?

On THIS one, you can't blame Bush or Rove: they were doing their best with efforts at immigration reform. This shows how party matters: it was the bulk of the GOP, not Bush or Rove, that engineered this self-destruction in the Latino community (minus the Cubans).

There'd be no need for the rally if McCain was up (outside of the margin of error). This might be worth a trip up on Saturday, at least for comedic (sp?) value.

Not a Gilmore fan....can't bring myself to sign on for that suicide mission. Hell, not a Warner fan, to cover both sides in that particular race. I'd rather write in Kaine.

Heck, I might travel up there Saturday just to get my laugh on.

Hell, I haven't even SEEN a Gilmore commercial in Hampton Roads (granted, I'm on the road a lot). My local representative (Thelma Drake) is getting more airtime than Gilmore.
