Though it might have seemed like it, Jack and I weren’t in competition yesterday as to whom could put out the most posts..LOL

I hope you spend a little time here at JJP to go past the first page. There’s some really informative stuff in those posts from yesterday.

New Polls Have Obama Running Strong In Key States

A new set of polls has good news for Barack Obama in four key battleground states:
• In Iowa, which voted narrowly for George W. Bush in 2004, a new CNN poll has Obama ahead of John McCain by a 55%-40% margin.
• In Minnesota, which went narrowly to Kerry, CNN has Obama up 53%-41%.
• In Ohio, where President Bush's narrow 2004 win sealed his overall victory, the CNN poll gives Obama a 47%-45% edge, within the ±3.5% margin of error.
• In North Carolina, which hasn't voted Dem since 1976, a Democracy Corps (D) poll gives John McCain a narrow advantage of 47%-44% — and gives Democratic Senate challenger Kay Hagan a 50%-45% lead over GOP Senator Elizabeth Dole.
If Obama's leads in Iowa and Ohio were to hold through November, it would be impossible for John McCain to win unless he could pick up some Kerry states.

The media isn't asking because many of their members (the primetime crew)
will be beneficiaries of the tax policies of a McCain administration. They are thinking of themselves and their pocketbooks, i.e. capital gains, inheritance and money the average American citizen isn't privy to.

Palin attacks Obama in convention speech

ST PAUL, Minnesota (AFP) — Republican vice presidential pick Sarah Palin on Wednesday accused Democratic nominee Barack Obama of using the theme of “change” merely as a slogan to promote his political career.
“Here's how I look at the choice Americans face in this election,” the Alaska Governor said in excerpts of her speech to the Republican National Convention.
“In politics, there are some candidates who use change to promote their careers. And then there are those, like John McCain, who use their careers to promote change.”
Palin also defended her credentials to serve as vice president, saying she had entered grass roots local politics to improve the lives of her kids and then worked her way up the executive ladder.
“Before I became governor of the great state of Alaska, I was mayor of my hometown, and since our opponents in this presidential election seem to look down on that experience, let me explain to them what the job involves,” Palin said in the excerpts.
“I guess a small-town mayor is sort of like a community organizer' except that you have actual responsibilities.”
That was another swipe at Obama, as the Democratic nominee worked as a community organizer in Chicago after law school.
Palin also lashed out at the media, which she blamed for fanning a clutch of controversies which have dogged her since Republican presumptive nominee McCain named her as his running mate last week.
“I'm not a member of the permanent political establishment and I've learned quickly, these past few days, that if you're not a member in good standing of the Washington elite, then some in the media consider a candidate unqualified for that reason alone.
“But here's a little news flash for all those reporters and commentators: I'm not going to Washington to seek their good opinion — I'm going to Washington to serve the people of this country.”

Those are just Repub talking points. They don't truly mean it. That is the party line which they have sent out to everyone. The repubs definitely stick together which is why they win elections. No matter how DESPICABLE the candidates,
they get behind them full force.

John McCain's presidential campaign is threatening a lawsuit against the National Enquirer over a print edition story the tabloid ran today alleging that Gov. Sarah Palin has had an extramarital affair with her husband's business partner.
The allegation would normally be dismissed by political observers as the random musings of a supermarket tabloid — indeed, the McCain campaign said as much in its statements on Wednesday — except that the paper has built up a reservoir of legitimacy following its earlier reporting on the John Edwards affair.
