A black bourgeoisie perspective on U.S. politics
Some of you may have heard that Sarah Palin is a woman. She has all the prerequisite equipment, allowing her instantly to identify with, represent and capture the votes of women. I don’t make the rules. That’s how it works.
Based on this political law of nature, it follows that Sarah Palin sets an example and standard of acceptable behavior for women. I’ve heard lots of women complain about being referred to as a “bitch,” but times they are a-changin, because Sarah Palin thinks it’s hilarious to do so.
She thinks it’s funny when you refer to a politician with a history of cancer as a cancer on the state.
She is aware of the body image issues women have to deal with too. So when an AM radio shock jock makes fun of Alaska Senate President Lyda Green’s weight, Sarah Palin is right there to liberate women by laughing along as if there’s nothing wrong.
What better way is there to win over the votes of (Updated description of following link) those who noted sexism against Hillary Clinton than to reclaim those former terms of offense often aimed at powerful women? What a bold and reform-oriented choice John McCain has made!
The next time you see Sarah Palin, or any woman with power, be sure to refer to her as a fat, cancerous bitch, because Sarah Palin doesn’t just think it’s ok, she thinks it’s the funniest thing ever!
John McCain had six months to choose a vice president. That’s more time than any nominee in history. He decided that Sarah Palin was the best America had to offer. Will he use the same thought process to appoint his cabinet and federal judges? Is he ready to lead?

Regardless of who Sara Palin is and her track record as Governor of Alaska, the fact is that her status as Governor is being used to show that she is more qualified than Barack Obama. Do they really want to go down that road? Barack is making history as the first African-American presidential candidate. How many African-American Governors are there in the United States? Why? Do they really want to go down that road without further stirring up anger in terms of the racial divide in American politics?
How much opportunity has been given to African-Americans to be Governors rather than Mayors? Is this a fair comparison? let's have some discussion on this!

baratunde: Speaking of FEMALE POLITICIANS: I heard a statement on TV, that if McAncient is only planning to serve ONE term, the Gov. would be in a good position to be the “next NEW FACE of the Repugs” and to RUN in 2012!!!
Welll! Well! Well! Billary!!! I believe that YOU are being CALLED OUT!!!! :>) :>)

Jack,
you know that I'm not one who knows how to post videos.
Two stories that have come to my attention. They are related and go directly to John McCain and HIS JUDGEMENT.
Can you post on them?

Maurice: Your point is well taken. :>) However, it's up to us to keep making the COMPARISON between Mr. Obama AND “McAncient”! [NOT the Gov.]
Yes, keep pointing out her “issues”, but NO COMPARISON'S! That's diversionary, IMHO. :>) But sooo tempting, I know. :>) :>)

I would not count on Clinton to step in. My honest opinion …
Clinton wants Obama to lose. I really believe that. For example, look at the tepid response she gave to Palin being added to the ticket. If I was a betting woman, I would place my money on the idea that Hillary is NOT intimidated by Palin. I believe she feels that after four years of McCain/Palin, the American public would be in such a pliable state for a Democratic President, she could easily beat her in 2012. I think … Clinton may be going “wow, this could NOT have worked out any better.”
Of course I have faith that Obama will win this election, so the alternative, for now, is just a “what if”. However, that's why, Clinton has been nearly mute on the subject.

Well Roland calls McCain a “punk” for canceling his CNN interview. See link to the Roland Report below.
“I thought Sen. John McCain was tougher than this!
Apparently the McCain camp was so angry with CNN after Campbell Brown rightfully pressed spokesman Tucker Bounds over the commander-in-chief credentials of Gov. Sarah Palin, they have pulled a booked interview of the senator with Larry King.
Talk about a punk move.
Campbell was doing her job, and she made Bounds look like a total fool. But he was the one offering nonsensical answers!
Good move, CNN.”

Noelani: Plausible! But the Gov. will present a “younger” picture. Billary will be ~64. And she better be building HER [NOT bull's] EXPERIENCE war-chest in these next 4 years! :>)
BUT, I AGREE WITH YOU!! :>) This is a “what if” discussion!! :>) :>)

Look at it this way, does Hillary Clinton want, even the possibility of, that knucklehead beating her to POTUS? It's like GreenladyHere said, she called her out. IT's ON!

Hmmm. I do believe they are taunting the Clinton's, as you say. Nothing enrages Republicans like the Clinton's. If they make too much of a public stink, it could help energize the R base.

I was saying the same thing to my husband about the Repube's meme comparing the Gov.'s exp. to Sen. Obama's. WTF? It's days like this when I miss Tim Russert because he asks the tough follow up questions without the spin. MSM is royally pissing me off with the lack of follow up/challenge questions regarding the race between Sen. Obama and Sen. McCain. Last time I checked, Obama isn't debating nor campaigning against Gov. Palin anytime soon.
Those Repube mofo's think their slick. Hypocrites.

Not only is Palin younger, but she's considered a MILF.
So, ya got a younger, more attractive, super duper right winger going up against a mature Clinton.
Yeah, Hillary best get ta stumpin for the O man!

And let us not forget the total disrespect John McCain and his supporters showed in a 2007 video where a female supporter said: “How do we beat the bitch?” referring to Hillary Clinton.

It seems McAncient has his own “thinking-it's-funny-to-call-a-woman-a-bitch” moment too!

I'm really surprised that no one from the Obama campaign has pointed out the obvious but GEORGE BUSH was GOVERNOR of freakin' Texas!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! And look where that left us. He padded the administration with incompetent and corrupt “bushies” and sent our foreign and domestic policy on the road to hell. Sorry, but after 2000, I will no longer fall for that BS argument that being a Governor, automatically makes you more qualified then the next person.
At least with Barack, I have a clear understanding of who he is, and how he would govern. I know what he does under pressure. There are no guarantees, but I feel a heck of a lot more comfortable with him, then quick draw McGraw McCain.
