That's the point us reasonable minded folks keep missing. McCain isn't trying to appeal to rational folks. He reaching out to those folks who cast their votes not based on principle or reason, but emotion and symbolism. As an Obama supporter, I'm not going to waste too much time and energy criticizing McCain's stunts; instead, I would like to add my voice to a collective call to Senator Obama to pull together an A-Team of seasoned political operativesi the next 24 hours who know how to play against a bootleg team who doesn't play by any playbook. It has been clear since the OH and TX primaries that David Plouffe and Axelrod are out of their league in dealing with cut throat operatives like Steve Schmidt.

I'm certainly NO political genius, but I did post several times last week on the Campaign's site that Senator Obama should show up unexpectedly and announced in DC to show he was helping to shepherd Democrats towards and agreement. After the Sarah Palin pick, it didn't take a genius to figure out McCain would pull a stunt like this. These tempermental stunts clearly show that McCain would be a disaster at governing, but they may also get him election.

Senator Obama and his team need to get the message--quick, fast and in a hurry--that you have to win before you govern.

YES, they are crazy, but also effective.
