Because McCain’s Running Mate has to be “protected” during her debates with Senator Joe “Ride & Die” Biden, because she has no experience as a debater.  From Crooks and Liars, via the NYT (subscription required on NYT):

The Obama and McCain campaigns have agreed to an unusual free-flowing format for the three televised presidential debates, which begin on Friday, but the McCain camp fought for and won a much more structured approach for the questioning at the vice-presidential debate, advisers to both campaigns said Saturday (Emphasis mine).

At the insistence of the McCain campaign, the Oct. 2 debate between the Republican nominee for vice president, Gov. Sarah Palin, and her Democratic rival, Senator Joseph R. Biden Jr., will have shorter question-and-answer segments than those for the presidential nominees, the advisers said. There will also be much less opportunity for free-wheeling, direct exchanges between the running mates. McCain advisers said they had been concerned that a loose format could leave Ms. Palin, a relatively inexperienced debater, at a disadvantage and largely on the defensive. (Emphasis mine)

So, let me get this straight: Obama and McCain can freestyle, but Sarah Palin can’t. When she ran for Governor of Alaska, didn’t she have to debate her opponent and sell herself as the most qualified for that job?  Why are the rules being changed, when she is being given an opportunity to showcase her “experience” as a Chief Executive of a State?  What does this say to YOU, the reader?

What this says to me is that the McCain camp knows Palin will get her ass handed to her by Biden on a silver platter, because, at this point, the glow is off, and homegirl better learn how to “ride and die” like the men do, or else.  She can’t cry out of this one, because “there’s no crying in politics”, and if she tries to play the “sexist” card, the next sound you hear will be the screeching of all the women in the Republican Party as they try to figure out how to get homegirl evicted off the ticket.  If Obama or Biden had even imagined they could try this shyt….

Don’t you think McCain should have thought of that before he picked her for his VP? Once again the American people are cheated out of an honest discussion of the issues.

You can package and market bullshyt all you want, but eventually, the people wake up to the smell and know that it’s not roses.
