Also, it's time for Obama to call in a few favors and get these senators and Caroline Kennedy to campaign for him in the close states like Florida, Virginia and Ohio.

What I would love to see is Al Gore campaigning for Obama in Florida!! Since this was the state that brought us George W. Bush, Al Gore can relate better down here and talk about getting out the vote!!!

I have no doubt that Senator O will win the General Election, maybe by a landslide even. But what about Ohio? Or does Iowa now speak for the heartland? If Obama wins by a million votes in the General Election and looses the Electoral Heartland College, what happens then?

And McBush's Cowboy strategy to ride into Washington and “save” the economy…

Flopped.

No. I don't want Obama to “run out the clock.” I'm actually happy with the way he's been conducting his campaign as of late. As I said, I think Obama benefits from a steady trend, not a dramatic shift.

I don't want to see Obama's poll numbers slip again. There's a weird aspect to this campaign that won't allow Obama to get too far ahead . . . it's like the polls, media and the electorate correct themselves the moment they see Obama start to pull away. That's why I'm looking for trends rather than spikes. . . a steady, but deliberate expansion of his lead.

I think this election is teetering on the verge of a blow out . .. at least, the possibility exists for a landslide. It's almost in reach. But the next 1-2 weeks will be crucial in determining whether it's a comfortable win or a nail-biter. For example, I agree with pundits who say Sarah Palin's debate performance could destroy McCain's chances if she falls flat.

To be honest, I think Obama's had more distractions from his own party than anything else. For example, just think of the amount of time Obama's had to waste on the Clintons. At this point, the Clintons could gift-wrap Ohio and PA for Obama if they were really serious in their support. But we're still dealing with a bunch of nonsense.

IF (big IF) Democrats and left-of-center voters can get their acts together, this should be a comfortable win. But our side has a lot of intangibles (everything from weak establishment/DNC support to the open question of whether or not our new registered voters show up at the polls).

I still think Obama could use a better surrogate game. His camp needs to hammer home a consistent message tied to a consistent theme. Stay ahead of the media cycle. There's room for improvement, but they've gotten better over the past two weeks.

McCain has been responding to Obama for the past two weeks, not the other way around. That's good news for the Obama camp. So, while I'm not necessarily looking for Obama to deliver a “knock-out” blow, I would like to see his surrogates be a lot more agressive.

Obama has been doing O.K. so far, though, so as long as he feels comfortable doing what he's doing (and driving McCain nuts), fine.

I personally would like to see Obama hit harder.
