Are republicans for the poor regular working class America or more aligned with Cindy McCain and Mitt Romney’s wealth? But, when Palin sells the state’s plane on e-bay it’s yet another story. That was certainly a gimmick. No wonder she is comfortable in her new role of VP of gimmicks/ misguided Christians/ and Hockey Moms.

Then, I heard Huck tell his bootstrap story of his upbringing. He mentioned his father in his speech. Well, what of those folks who don’t have 2 parents in the home, foster kids, those with medical problems, and etc. What let them eat cake? John McCain and Bush did during Hurricane Katrina.

The Palin pick infuriates me most because her alleged “regular-ness”. She isn’t regular to me. What is regular? What is American? Apparently, republicans have the only definition of it. Apparently, service is only service if it’s in the armed services. Organizing isn’t service?? By whose definiton? Certainly, not Jesus’ who was arguably the very first community organizer. I am so sick of republicans defining American-ness.

Another, point is that republicans always say they are proud of their country. I certainly agree America is a country to be proud of. But, when you are a minority or apart of a disenfranchised group there are certain to be many moments when your price can wane. Being raised by parents who were products of the civil rights struggle has shaped my world view. So yeah, you can always be proud and love an America who protects your women. Everyone wants you to move 50 feet from Sarah Palin. It’s frustrating when Michelle Obama another working mom is derided because her parents struggled and sent her to an Ivy League school. Why was she mocked because she fulfilled the American dream and MLK’s too?!??! When the pseudo-poor elitists mock her achievement you just have to wonder.= how far we have really come.

Obama's candidacy is about hope; in part because it has to be. He has to inspire people to trust his “alleged” differentness. Conversely, Palin/McCain are seeking to completely play to their core group and promote division.

Since when does the most powerful, open, democratic, and free nation in the world get led by your next door neighbor?

I mean, I get the appeal of the idea, but the morning after still needs to be remembered.
