this is a link to the oprah.com message boards where what appears to be mostly white women are slamming lady o. for not having sarah palin on her show before the election.

amazing. they've been watching oprah for 27 years and they're ready to abandon her in droves for a woman who's been on the public scene for a month.

I think I'm about to subscribe to O magazine again....

I just renewed my membership to her site, but I am unable to activate my account at this time. The page is shut down. I even subscribed to her magazine, which I really don't like because of all the advertisements.

Those white girls are really ripping Oprah a new one over their girl, Sarah Palin. Ain't it funny how Oprah ain't one of them anymore? I wonder if she'll have free tickets to her "Favorite Things" show? I'm just kidding. (lol)

A repub scam...They're probably not even women, and have been attacking her message boards ever since she endorsed Obama. They would love to take Oprah down, 'cause she's so powerful and influential and 'cause Repubs fear wealthy liberals..it doesn't fit in with their world view of personal greed. I believe it's why they demonize celebrities as "hollywood elite".

Oprah flies in the face of Repub ideology with her Angel network and Big Give. She's done shows recently - with Maria Shriver - on poverty in America ...exposing the decrepit, third world conditions some Americans live in. Oprah threatens the lie of conservative ideology. This fits in with the demonizing of community organizing...If America is so prosperous, then why the need for so much community activism?

The right wing is truly a thing of evil.

Then I will subscribe to her magazine for sure. I can't watch her show, and actually, whenever I turn it on there is a "celebrity" on there who I've never heard of and that I don't care about. I never seem to tune in when she has serious shows, so I kinda gave up. But I'll get her magazine to show my support.

I just went outside. It is barely sprinkling. I guess the wind is the worst thing. My son & I watched our neighbors across the street lose power. We still have power (for now) on our side. The wind is picking up, though just doesn't seem that bad to me. I guess there are gusts that are bad, according to the news.

I read that this morning. I'm just glad someone in the major publications has noticed.

On that gas tank comment. I went home for 2 hours and went back out and gas jumped from 3.61 to 3.76!

Let's hope the people in the path are safe in their homes. My former co-workers/associates in the Houston area are going to stay through the storm - hopefully this wpn't be as bad as we think it will be.

In some areas of the South, gas has already leapt to over $5.00 a gallon. And Canada is also feeling the brunt.

What did I say a few months ago? $6.00 a gallon? ABC News says it's already here.
