c) Give the Republican Party time enough to regroup and roll out the upgraded Mac OS 20.5 version of “Cheneyistic et al” governance. (I don't think that came out right)

d) make an example of McCain and show all other “independent” thinking republican that this is how you will be treated if you step out of line (i.e you can not choose your own running mate or force you to lose any election

I can no longer believe that the Republican Party would allow this woman to get the VP nomination. Her political life is messy. They could have easily covered up her personal life (which is really nothing to cover up). They would not have allowed other people to dig up dirt on her professionally and personally. They would have shape her narrative via Cheney's and Bush's. They would not put up a candidate the is professionally indefensible and totally contradict MC Cain message. McCain would have picked a credible more VP candidate. Hot mikes, leaks to the press and the political right blogosphere questioning McCain's choice.
