Please send this out to everyone you know and try and get some action on this. It looks like the Michigan GOP is using forclosures to prevent blacks from voting.
I finally heard audio of Biden's quotes. He was praising Hillary Clinton while being slightly self-deprecating to himself, basically saying there would be a few things she probably could do better than he could. This is nothing.
SpartacusLaw
Good to hear, albeit there has been a lot of damaging nothings so far
Granted, that may not have been his verbatim statement, but the opening for implication by the right wing pundits is just plain ridiculous. Not exactly what the campaign needs at the moment, IMHO.

I know, what's with the poor me act?....is it just and act perhaps?

Joe Biden is thinking about spending his days in the American Cayman's we know in the Banking Industry called the State of Delaware

I hate where we are at today. I hate that we don't call out so called leaders such as Colin Powell and Chuck Hagel and ask them if they support McCain's choice of Palin. These two men know more about war, National Security and Foreign policy enough to give credibility to a VP choice.
Why are they not stepping up to the plate and choosing "Country First" instead of their political connections first.
I think we should draft an open letter to these two men.
If Powell and/or Hagel are going to endorse Barack-Biden, they will do it when it matters most.
Jibreel Riley
Powell had no interests Hagel is on some other chit Are you a Republican? If your not... Why would you care who John McCain pics? Its like being a lakers fan being heated about Golden State's 1st round draft pick
Nate_Wesley
Because John McCain's campaign (not necessarily McCain himself) didn't even pick the best or most qualified Republican to serve as his VP. Your sports analogy is laughably dumb because none of my favorite sports teams are making decisions which affect my country or its citizens. Though it should be noted that the current commander in chief couldn't do shyt with the Texas Rangers. Or his oil company. Or Texas. Or...
Membership or partiality to one political party doesn't mean we shouldn't root for basic competency in the opposition, based upon the reality that our candidate could lose. From both a GOP support and a GOP opposition standpoint, Sarah Palin sucks. She's more qualified than Tom Ridge? Chuck Hagel? Kay Bailey Hutchinson? Please.
kenyaw
Nate,
"Membership or partiality to one political party doesn't mean we shouldn't root for basic competency in the opposition, based upon the reality that our candidate could lose."
Could not have said it better myself. Thank goodness for reasonable people.
Michigander2
excuse me, my message had nothing to do with party, it had to do with "country first."
We, us Americans prefer "statesmen" who care about "Country First"...and obviously we are NOT getting that from McCain.
My basic question is why people like Colin Powell and Chuck Hagel. WHO we all know have an opinion on this McCain/Palin ticket don't have the guts to state their opinion publically.
Jibreel Riley
You are not voting for McCain if he was handing out a free gas cards so stop right there and I told you Powell wasn't interested, Hagel has left the Republican reservation (but the GOP hasn't hated on the man like Lieberman and the Dems) and when has Obama even taking on his own party? Are we getting this from Obama this "statesmanship" of the Gov from Alaska is scaring you in realizing that the GOP has the change. This is why I said: why do you even care? McCain made his choice, take it or leave it. In a nutshell you dont understand the Republican Party because the press damm sure dose not and if I hear some clown ass pundit say "McCain should of picked __________ or some pro choice (R)" I'm going to flip-out!

I swore Keith Olbermann reminds me of the White Benson btw.
All you folks who throw Harvard in our faces remember McCain is a Commander... Remember Satleback?
Why is the press in FULL PANIC MODE when it comes to Obama... Its like WAPO, NYT, MSOSobamaNBC save me, save me
TruthSeeker

haven't you heard many of us are uppity negroes! We are not afraid.
Jibreel Riley
I'm not afraid nether
JJai
yeah, you are. You are afraid of Obama and his campaign. If you were so secure you would have no reason to troll on this site.
Okay, poof. I am done with you!
Jibreel Riley
I'm not trolling... this is my real name and I'm not hard to find... you want my email too. This is how i get down. I'm black also and this is a black blog so I dont wanna be in the dark however... gasps I vote Republican... sorry I just dont wanna be a dependent and I believe most problems in the black community could be solved if we took a very very hard look at ourselves and stop BS-ing
Miranda
LOL...puh-leeze! Its so obvious. If you were any whiter, you'd be clear.
Yep! Take a "very, very hard look at ourselves" while your beloved White folk in the Grand Ole WHITE Party take our taxes and do what the hell they want to do with them no matter how dependent they and their cronies are DEPENDENT or otherwise subsidized or fleecing the system. Not that the Democrats are day to their night but damn...
You're one sick f-ck when you align your "dependency" issues (your issues over this propaganda) with your politics which is and always has been about WHO decides WHO gets WHAT.
So you're down with some mf's who say, in essence most Black people individually and, certainly, collectively won't get sh*t on their tax investment let alone century long sweat equity in this country.
You are a sick f-ck and have nothing but internalized issues f-ckin' up your brain. This country (at least when we consider the myth-belief) foundation inspiration came from the slogan of NO TAXATION WITHOUT REPRESENTATION. Well, in the literal sense, you're ass-out. Your black azz has no real representation in the Republican party.
That aside, the principle again goes back to Politics/Poli Sci 101 = WHO DECIDES WHO GETS WHAT. We're all paying into the system. But they've conned your silly azz into not expecting, let alone demanding anything in return all because of the sh*t you got twisted in your head about "most [of the] problems in the black community."
On too many levels that bs doesn't pass the smell test. It damn sure sucks at logic and there's a big azz disconnect.
If this is all about us taking a "very, very hard look at ourselves"... why the hell are you reppin' any political party?
The sh*t just doesn't make sense. You don't need Republicans to talk that bs. As to why you got that sh*t mix up in your discourse here, on a partisan blog... a pro-Obama and, as such, pro-Democrat blog... You know you can't even begin to come up with a bs rationale that wouldn't leave giant horse tracks that prove that you are BS-ing...
Town
I certainly hope McCain is paying you a lot of money or giving you a lot of points. You've been a very busy little boy, what with trolling on JJP, Field Negro, black agenda report, the Washington Post, swamppolitics, bradblog, Business Week, Politico, the Chicago Tribune, the NY Times, BET, ABC, the Atlanta Journal Constitution, the Village Voice, Altanet, the NY Sun, etc.
Hope you at least get a job offer out of all this trolling.

LOL.....naw.....a job would require at least 5th grade language arts skills.
Jibreel Riley
Naw, I just read a lot ... I do this for free... I dont even think the McCain Camp know about this however I work hard for the VRWC and the Liberty of America and its is threatening by Ivy League Liberals who think they should run our lives better than ourselves.

I hope that McCain receives this same type of reception in every major urban (and openly public) venue he dares to enter. Let McCain bring his ass to the Flying Biscuit in Atlanta, he will be SHOUTED down___.

Just askin'...So while Obama and McBush is in NYC showing a brief moment of solidarity, will McBush's camp be politicizing 9/11 from Alaska? Palin Power Baby! This chick rocks while Obama became a lame
Maurice Stewart
Obama should stop attacking Sara Palin and focus on John McCain. It seems as if he has not learnt his lesson from the primaries with Hillary. Sexism is a major card and strategy that the McCain campaign intend to use to attract female voters.
nickwah22
When did Obama make any comments about the woman? Who the hell is being sexist? If anything she is being let off the hook because she is a woman.
Goodness, are you that grammar challenged that you can't even write a coherent sentence? Or are you parotting what you think black folk's intellect is? Because your posts are written worse than any 1st grader's, and are virtually unreadable.
You need the Dick and Jane primers because your grammar/pretense at poor grammar is so bad that it is offensive. See Spot run. Go Puff go!

Yes it is. They need her on the stump. She's right, women ought to be offended by McCain's policies.

I've known that the media's been trying to sabotage BO's Campaign. It's been fairly obvious to anyone paying attention for the past 1 1/2 year that they'll do everything in their power. This whole Pigstick non-scandal is the latest. Though I didnt watch, I read somewhere that Andrea Mitchell's calling this Obama's Dukkakis in the Tank moment. What the @#$#$? That comment alone tells you everything you need to know about the press: They're awaiting for their moment so they can strangle Obama. Neither Rev. Wright or Bittergate did it.....but you can tell they are just waiting. It's sickening.
Jay
Ok, can someone tell me WHAT THE FUCK is up with Joe Biden?
He was responding to someone in the audience who clearly did not like Hillary. I dont think he was trying to disparage his ownself as Obama's choice.
NMP
I'm waitin'! I could not have been more ehthusiastic about Biden a week ago, but I wouldn't be mad if he suddenly withdrew from the race for "health" issues or something.
It's been a while since he was nominated as a vice-presidential candidate, and we still haven't had a look at his medical history. This is the normal course of events for a person who could potentially be president next February. The press really needs to do its job and get Biden's medical records pronto. Again: this needn't be too invasive. It could even be done the way McCain's medical vetting was - reserved for a room of reporters to comb through all the major and obvious issues.
So what are you waiting for, Joe?
Obama's vetting committee were pretty thorough in investigating all aspects of Biden as VP choice prior to the announcement. I find it hard to believe that they would have picked him without looking at not only his finances but his latest physical as well; after all, he would be president if anything happened to Obama.
That said, one thing I came to respect about both Obama and Biden during the primaries was the respect they had for fellow Dems; in fact, none of the other Dems were ever as full-throated venomous as Clinton against each other; their party loyalty runs deep. I would think much less of either of them were they to tear into Clinton on the campaign trail at this stage. And y'all need to get over Clinton - she will never be vetted financially because Billy Jeff won't ever open up his finances to that kind of scrutiny.
And I am still enthusiastic about Biden; he's been laying into McCain nearly every day this week - how quickly people forget! Talk about a short attention span. . . . It is definitely what have you done for me TODAY. **SMH**
Miranda
Sullivan wasn't really asking about Biden's medical records...he was REALLY being sarcastic about the fact that McCain has never really released HIS records....LOL...there's a link in that paragraph that takes you to Sullivan's real aim.
Thanks for the explanation; as you can see, I didn't follow the link since I'm still a bit mistrustful of Andrew Sullivan who was such a gung-ho neo-con until recently.
TruthSeeker
Where's your link?
Jay
For whatever reason the link isn't highlighted...but here is the URL:
Obama on Letterman: Palin is lipstick, McCain policies are pig
Amie Parnes reports that Obama just taped this evening's show with David Letterman, which touched at length on the McCain campaign's accusations that he'd spoken disrespectfully about Sarah Palin.
"Keep in mind, that technically had I meant it this way she would be the lipstick," Obama said. "The policies of John McCain would be the pig."
A partial transcript:
LETTERMAN: Let me ask you a question here, have you ever actually put lipstick on pig?
OBAMA: The answer would be no. But I think it might be fun to try .... This is sorta silly season in politics. Not that there's a non silly season but it gets sillier . It's a common expression in at least illinois. I don't know about in New York City. I don't know what you put lipstick on here. (Silly cringe from Letterman. Laughter from audience) In Illinois, The expression connotes the idea that if you have a bad idea -- in this case I was talking about McCain's economic plans -- calling them 'change,' calling them something different doesn't make them better. Hence lipstick on a pig is still a pig.
He then added that Palin represented the lipstick in the picture, with McCain's policies as the pig.
Letterman asked what Obama and the campaign thought of Palin when she was picked: "We didn't know much about her. Honestly, she's a skilled politician."
"There's no doubt that she has been a phenomenon," Obama continued. "I mean, as somebody who used to be on the cover of Time and Newsweek -- those were the days, I had a recent offer with Popular Mechanics, centerfold with a wrench," he said to laughter. "Look, she's on wild ride and there's no doubt that she has energized the base. "
Obama also talked about his plans to visit Kenya if he's elected, about his life in Hawaii, and about his grandmother.
Justice58
I read on Kos that Chris Matthews ripped lipstick a new A-hole!
This "outrage" displayed by the McCain campaign is ridiculous seeing as how McCain made similar comments about Hillary. Was McCain calling Hillary a pig??
