i've never watched paula deen's show before tonight. it seemed disjointed, stiff. even the segments with her sons seemed forced. and it was odd (to me) that michelle didn't cook a meal or share a family recipe. there just didn't seem to be a point to her visit.

maybe i'm just used to emeril with the live music and more of a party atmosphere …

I admit I used to not watch Paula Deen because her accent brought up images in my mind of the deep, bigoted south (I openly admit that I have somewhat of a northern bias) but after watching the show I liked it. I consider myself an amateur cook so I always watch the food channel to get ideas, and I have to say, Paula is the only one who cooks soul food. Now that she's having Michelle on there, I'm going to start calling her Auntie Paula.
