The introduction of the Gov. Palin to this race has only served to trivialize what would, otherwise, be considered relevant issues. The mainstream media has elevated her to national prominence and political significance, while simultaneously circulating the “conventional wisdom” that she would be difficult to attack. Instead of discussing our failing economy, education, health care and energy policies our political discourse has been reduced to personalities and embedded dogma. This election will not even be close and the mainstream media knows this. It is not in the interest of commercial media to cover a lopsided race, bad ratings means decreased ad revenue, therefore to keep us glued to the tube, a “contrived” contest must be concocted. After the Conventions opinion polls showed a tightening of the gap between Obama and McCain, suggesting that McCain-Pain has injected life into a dead campaign. The fact is that these polls do not accurately reflect who will vote in the upcoming elections, but rather they merely measure “likely voters”; the polls do not reflect the infusion of new blood into the body politic. We must remember and remind others that these polls are conducted and sponsored by the media companies; they know what they're doin' and they just don't care”. With rare exception mainstream political reporting has become bereft of journalistic integrity. They have the responsibility of informing the public, but throughout our nation's history the press has been manipulated by those seeking power for selfish, often meglomaniacal, reasons. I expect the mainstream press to stir the shyt up until Mc Cain gives his concession speech. You ain't seen nothin' yet!

No see…the home in Juneau is her “official” home, and the one in Wasilla is….is….a halfway house of sorts. You get the room, but meals and other incidentals are charged to the state.

You are not allowed to claim staying at home on expense reports, I don't give a good damn if you are the gov. It is against the rules. Just because I am alotted something doesn't mean I should spend it. That is called fiscal responsibility. Just because she spent less than the crooks doesn't make her any less a crook. Anywho, she is the one talking about how she bucked the trends and is saving alaska money. Hell she could have saved them even more money. I would be sold by that. If a rep in North carolina did this he would do jail time. Trust that.
