I posted over this issue last week and said Obama should be in DC to lead on this issue. I will continue to say the crisis is more important than the debate. As you pointed out canceling the debate is considered gamesmanship. McCain's gamemanship collapsed on McCain because you can't make up the s@#$ that he has done to himself this week and the bailout of the financial system -real issue-caused his poll numbers to tank .

the problem remains that $700,000,000,000 is about to be given to a person whom not only personally profitted from the excesses leading to the problem, but now that he is Sec of the Treasury he has ignored taking a proactive position on the mortgage paper problem that was evident when he became Sec of Treasury. He could allocate all of it by Jan 20 2009 and Obama will have to deal w/ it. For that much money I do not trust anyone

He gets props for supporting Barack from the "get-go." I'm sure that Cynthia would've done the same had she retained her seat in the Congress. Alas, she didn't kiss enough judeo-ass, so she was ejected.

...Since Cynthia moved to Cali, she's really become the ultra-liberal's "Superhero" and i have mixed emotions: pride, jealousy for escaping GA, etc.

Georgia politics are pretty flicted otherwise...Hank needs some speech-coaching and he'll be fine.

Hell, I'd love to see the day when two viable black Presidential candidates debated in Mississippi, and even more so a male and female candidate. But as you say see is not viable so I'm not sure 1) how many people would tune in and 2) how many people who are not ready for that image would be completely turned of by the sight. Which is, you know, sad.

I wonder if they'll let her in.

But letting her in is essentially letting McCain OFF THE HOOK. And it shouldn't be allowed.

It would be interesting if McKinney debated both Obama and McCain. Of course it would be a two-way debate, because McCain wouldn't have the mental capacity to stand in with McKinney and Obama.

Not playing with you, Sepia. Try this on for size:

McCain said he would put politics aside and return to Washington Thursday to focus on the nation’s financial problems after addressing former President Clinton’s Global Initiative session in New York.

Will that do?

Caligirl, I've been THIS PISSED since 2002, when Bush decided to go and attack Iraq and no proof had been provided other than the lies told by Colin Powell. Every penny gone to fight this unnecessary war is money gone from social, educational, environmental and economic programs. No health care, piss-poor public education system and an economy in the tank. If Bush doesn't pour money into Iraq, there's money to take care of all these crisis cropping up right now.

I'm beyond PISSED! I want my country back!

If either of them tried it, it could be painted as political gamesmanship.

If they jointly agree to do it, it looks like heading back to DC to take care of Business.

Bottom Line - McCain tried to pull a fast one on Obama and got burned. When you play by the rules, you come out looking a whole lot better than McCain does right now.

Obama offered him the way out at 8:30am. Why did it take McCain until 2:00 pm to agree to it?

Because he had no intention of going along with it, that's why. He was going to try and one up Obama and make him look incompetent to deal with the economic crisis. Now he looks like a whiny Ass-Tittie-Baby whom Obama just pwkned.

I triple dare him to cancel that debate on Friday. At least if he does, he will make it that much easier for Obama to carry a Southern state. However, being that the state is Mississippi, McCain could be engaging in acts of bestiality and the state would probably still elect him as opposed to voting for a Brotha.

Bigotry is that ingrained in Mississippi, sad to say.

Not to mention the cost of the cancellation.

The only way McCaint gets out of this is to have his beer heiress wife write the City of Oxford and the University of Mississippi a check to cover expenses of getting ready to host an event that may not happen.

I can't see McCaint doing that, even if he thinks his wife is a "c--t" that would have to write said check.

The point is they can go to Washington AND have the debates. They is why they use aircraft....they can get from one place to another rather quickly. McCain is seemingly not canceling his appearance at the Clinton Global Initiative tomorrow. It is reported that he met with Lady de Rothschild, a former Hillary backer this morning and had an interview with Katie Couric today....and now it is all of a sudden deeply urgent. He better not sure up anywhere else but in Washington discussing this with Paulson and Benanke because otherwise it is simply a crafted political ploy.

Even our own lame duck President spoke at the U.N. Monday, the first day of the bailout session in Congress. I particularly DO NOT want this rushed through....I want President Bush and Paulson and others to clearly address DIRECTLY to the taxpayers what the details in a primetime address. Bush is rumored to discuss how critical it is to pass it, but I want to know EXACTLY what this bailout entails---explain to the folks why it is needed---polls show many Americans oppose---and many have no opinion, probably becasue they don't know enough details to form an opinion.

If McCain pulls a (as Rikyrah might say) "Punk Ass Beotch" No-Show and fuggs up the local economy at Ole-Miss, I surely hope that Barack will carry MISSISSIPPI on NOV. 4th...
