I noticed nea shut it up after the challenge to produce some stats on Obama and Education.

And to the other question, why do kids need to know about STIs at age 5? They don't the wording says age-approprite sex ed, but included topics of STIs. It's a little grammar rule where you create an umbrella, so nothing important is deliberated excluded can can't be brought up, but you can still customize the material you present.

Oh, and maybe you need to take your own advice about not going insane considering you were acting so offended about Obama's "You can put lipstick on a pig and it's still a pig" comment. Talk about going insane! Since you're so concerned about women's rights, why are you supporting a candidate that is against equal pay for women?

LOL, here are some more ideas:

Stop putting McCain and Bush in golf carts and hugs in the ads. Have a series of "real people" ads:

1) A man is at the gas station, filling his pump. He tells the camera in 2000, the gas was at $1.35/gallon. But now it's at $3.50 a gallon. Even though prices have come down, they're still very high. He doesn't know how his family is going to pay for heating this winter. He wishes the government had a plan to deal with his rising energy costs. He would listen to McCain, but McCain says the election is not about the issues anymore, it's about personality. Barack Obama has a plan, and that's why he's voting for Barack Obama.

2) New Orleans, LA. A woman is showing us the destruction of her neighborhood. She says she felt let down that John McCain and George Bush were eating birthday cake while New Orleans drowned. She goes on to say the US could order immediate help for other countries, but not it's own citizens. John McCain doesn't care, but Barack Obama does and that's why she's voting for him.

2a) this ad could also be set in Iowa.

3) White woman, sitting in her living room. She tells the camera she doesn't understand why John McCain and Sarah Palin oppose choice for women like her, but gladly accept choice for themselves and their families. That doesn't seem right. It makes her uneasy that John McCain and Sarah Palin would be appointing justices to the Supreme Court that aim to take away her choices. She can't let that happen and that's why she's voting for Barack Obama.

4) A woman is wrapping up her PTA meeting. She tells the camera that for years John McCain and the Republicans have been telling ordinary citizens to get involved in their communities and not to depend on the government for everything. That's why she got involved in her local PTA and they started an afterschool program to keep kids safe and off the streets. So she was really disappointed when John McCain and Sarah Palin mocked the efforts of community organizers. Barack Obama knows that an ordinary citizen can make a big difference, and that's why she's voting for Barack Obama.

BONUS:

5) Ad targeted to black communities: A teacher is in a classroom. A picture of MLK is in the background. She says "John McCain and Sarah Palin say they want to make history, but John McCain claimed he didn't even know who Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. was or why he should be honored." She then goes on to say she's worried that John McCain will try to turn back the clock on the rights that many people have died for. That's not history he should be making, and that's why she's voting for Barack Obama.

The McCain Hugging Bush Ads have got to go.

As Nquest posted in the Wed Open Thread:

Well, we'll just looking at what's posted on the website OnTheIssues.org shows:

BARACK OBAMA:
# First Senate bill: increase Pell Grant from $4,050 to $5,100. (Aug 2007)
# Sponsored legislations that recruit and reward good teachers. (Sep 2004)
# Voted YES on $52M for "21st century community learning centers". (Oct 2005)
# Voted YES on $5B for grants to local educational agencies. (Oct 2005)
# Voted YES on shifting $11B from corporate tax loopholes to education. (Mar 2005)

JOHN MCCAIN:
# Voted NO on $52M for "21st century community learning centers". (Oct 2005)
# Voted NO on $5B for grants to local educational agencies. (Oct 2005)
# Voted NO on shifting $11B from corporate tax loopholes to education. (May 2001)
# Voted NO on spending $448B of tax cut on education & debt reduction. (Apr 2001)

But we can also go to S.1574, the Teacher Residency bill Obama introduced that passed at the end of July 2008, which is aimed at increasing teacher aptitude and retention in low income areas by training new teachers similar to recent entrants to the medical profession, through residencies, where novices learn under the guidance of skilled mentors.

Plus Obama has his hands on the (1) Innovation Districts for School Improvement Act, (2) the Summer Term Education Programs for Upward Progress Act (STEP UP), (3) Education Opportunity Act, (4) the aforementioned HOPE Act (Higher Education Opportunity Through Pell Grant Expansion Act) and (5) the Predominantly Black Institutions Act which passed at the same time the Teacher Residency program did.

Great observation and an answer to my question. Obviously the media is in cahoots with John McCain. They don't give a sh*t about informing voters. In fact, they (the Morning Joe crew) let Pat Buchanan slide with saying "FACTS ARE BORING."

So they have determined, just like Campaign McCain, that this election is not about the issues. They don't give a sh*t about the issues, distortions or lies...

Anyway, I'm waiting for the 527 ad that brings back the Dollar Bill issue and broadcast 24/7 (since the MSM wouldn't do it) how McCain played the race card (similar to the way he's playing the sexism card) and blamed Obama for it. And they can throw in some KKK imagery or quote Stormfront or some group like that saying the same thing Campaign McCain did...

Clinton demonstrated far better command of the issues and how far more sophisticated policies.

::

No she didn't.

Palin was chosen to give folks an opportunity for recompense.

The Black Man beat the White Woman in the primaries.
Your stats are staggering.

But they launched the ad after Barack's terrific speech on education yesterday where he made McCain look like a fool. So instead of having the talking heads praising Barack's vision for our educational system, instead of the pundits actually talking about the state of our educational system, they're talking about Barack being "icky."

I don't mind at all. I especially want to see the white women sitting down at the table being worried and scared of McCain - Palin, because all women should be.

That IS crap. The McCain campaign, McCain himself, and anybody who would defend this in any way (that includes you) is a dirty, filthy, sleazy, lowdown, no good, evil waste of space. Pure scum.

What?!

Pervert is the word used by Obama's campaign to describe Mccain.

Yes, Obama wants to improve education. We all do, but what has he DONE?

Team Obama argues that the comprehensive sex education bill was common sense and designed to protect kids from predators. Notice they voice no objection to the ad's points on "no significant mark on education," "elusive on accountability," "staunch defender of existing monopoly," etc.

On the sex ed bill, it's possible that Obama had the best of intentions, but the bill text did include, "Each class or course in comprehensive sex education offered in any of grades K through 12 shall include instruction on the prevention of sexually transmitted infections, including the prevention, transmission and spread of HIV." Do kids really need to know about STDs starting at age 5? Isn't it a strong argument that the "good touch-bad touch" stuff could start that early, but the nitty-gritty about exchanging bodily fluids could wait until the kids are at least a little closer to double digits?

f there is MORE to his record, PROVE it. Don't slime McCain for pointing out Obama's record.

Can Obama stand up to teacher's unions regarding meaningful reform? Will he support school choice?

Get real about the debate and stop going insane! Obama is hyper-defensive and his supporters are off the charts in their hatred of McCain and Palin.
