Great observations/points on white women coming unplugged about Palin. There is a war brewing between white trash medioctrity and white class.
My daughter sent me this link. She lives in Washington, D.C.
Email PBS Senior Correspondent Gwen Ifill, who will be moderating the debate, to tell her you want these important questions asked:
Jack Cafferty face says it all whenever he drops knowledge. One of the rare truth tellers on CNN.

Jack is wrong. What is scary is that John McCain actually picked her. I am looking forward to this statement so that everyone realizes what kind of man he is:
Former GOP presidential candidate John McCain called for the removal of the Confederate battle flag from atop the South Carolina Statehouse on Wednesday, acknowledging that his refusal to take such a stance during his primary battle for the Palmetto State was a "sacrifice of principle for personal ambition."

in all seriousness, i think people are making a HUGE mistake by underestimating palin. if she's spent all her time away from the press prepping for this debate, she could actually come out swinging and impress everyone all over AGAIN. i hope biden is taking this seriously because the last thing we need is a palin enthusiasm resurgence.
also, during the last vp debate, gwen asked about aids and black women. biden better have a good answer if she decides to ask the question again or that's going to look messed up, especially if palin has an answer.
Town
Palin will probably think Gwen Ifill means black women have personal aides.
Teacher
She will think that most Black women, being whores, have aids. Don't forget, she's a fuckin red neck and proud of it!
I wish she would be asked to explain what a red neck is and why she is proud to be one. I would ask her how she reconciles this label, which has racist connotations, with her christianity, AND how she would be able to represent Americans given that she has proudly adopted a racist affiliation.
Ya know what's really hilarious? Turn the volume down and just look at Katie Couric's face. If there were pop up bubbles above Couric's head, what would they say??
To top it off this woman has a preggers seventeen year old. Did Palin physically throw her under the bus already?
Town
The word on the internet streets is the McCain people want Bristol and Levi married ASAP (as in right before the election) so they can get some positive PR for their campaign. Sarah Palin is Lady McBeth-y enough to go through with it. For all of Hillary's fault I don't think she would EVER force Chelsea to marry a "f-ing redneck" just for publicity. Hillary knows all about the ills of f-cking rednecks since she's married to one.
rikyrah
Town,
you actually think Hillary would throw Chelsea under the bus like Palin has done Bristol?
I don't. I honestly don't.
And Palin did it without blinking.

It is the Republican playbook of contrast those liberal elites vs the regular American. Sarah Palin is one of those 'average Americans" who Republicans pander to all the time. People who cannot compete in the 21st century. She is a member of Nixon's "silent majority": White, angry, Christian fascists who abhor the world because they cannot tolerate or compete in it. She fires up the base because McCain needs them to vote. Remember, they are the ones who gave Goerge W his victory.
kenyaw
I wish I could figure out the angle that Karl Rove and the "Neo Cons" are going for on this one. Everyone involved with picking Gov. Palin new her shortcomings, but there is some underlying scheme going on and I have yet to figure it out. This did not just happen by accident, she was chosen for a reason.
Can anyone tell me what the psycho dynamics are, behind the Sarah Palin pick? Was it only to incite the base? That does not sound like a full plan. Unless they think that SOME white Americans, really were looking for someone to champion their fears.
MsKitty
(Pulls out tinfoil hat, puts it on)
My theory is that Palin was picked precisely because of her shortcomings. The Neo-cons need somebody to carry out their agenda, and Miss Sarah is the perfect patsy because she's too ignorant to know any better. So early in a McCain presidency, look for him to suddenly become incapacitated or pass away. Palin becomes prez and does the bidding of Cheney, Wolofwitz and company. Win-win situation for the Neo-cons.
(Takes off tinfoil hat, puts it back in drawer)
kenyaw
Ms Kitty, Thanks! You feel me. This is no accidental selection. If they could get GW elected twice, they can certainly get an attractive white women elected as VP. SOME "people" are soo caught up on that type of thing. They will vote for her, in part, because of it. That makes her worthy. Weird
I have been putting it off, but I think that I need to order, "Behold the Pale Horse" and really get my conspiracy "on". Ten bucks says that there is a whole chapter about the financial crisis and a women like Gov. Palin. Scary times we are living in.
(Takes tinfoil hat from Ms Kitty and tries it on for size)
Someone likened the pick of Palin to the campaign Coca-Cola ran a few years ago when they switched up their formula for Coke and marketed the switch to the public.
The public let them know in no uncertain terms that they wanted "Original" Coke back.
Maybe Palin is "New Coke" and they can pave the way to put a real Neo-Con in there in her place. In that way, they will have tried the diversity approach and have an excuse to get rid of her without pissing off the women in their base.
To my way of thinking, the GOP women should have been pissed the moment she was announced as McCaint's running partner - especially after all the more qualified women in the GOP McCain could have chosen and still made his point - whatever THAT POINT was.
(Removes tin foil hat, and returns it to Ms Kitty)

I love Jack Cafferty and his matter of fact attitude. He calls bullshit bullshit and I am sickw of the media trying to bullshit me. Thanks Jack.
TruthSeeker
Yeah, Jack is great. He should have his own show.
A second ago on CNN, they showed Joe dropping a bombshell that McCain want to raise taxes on the middle class through taxing health benefits. He said if you earn 50 thou and you have 12 thou in health benefits, you'll move into the 62 thou tax bracket and pay taxes on 62 thou.... essentially paying taxes on an extra 12 thou that you will never see in cash. It is explosive.
Yet after the clip, the two anchors....Malveaux and Bash were chit chatting about Palin's one liners and sexism and all kinds of crap. Malveaux, I find a little ditzy. Bash did keep looking at the monitor like she knew this was explosive, but neither woman said anything in the commentary.
I've heard Ali Velshi say in the fact checks that Barack want to lower taxes on the middle class, and McCain wants to lower taxes on "everybody".
We need to get the word out to CNN to fact check the McCain policy of taxing health benefits. I'm writing a letter and sending it to all the shows.
Cafferty is the only reason I watch Wolf and the so-called Situation Room. BTW, I thought Obama did very well last night and will do even better when the main subject is on domestic issues.
GreenLadyHere
MacDaddy: Hey! :>) Re: Cafferty. . . My sister and I call each other to say: "Jack's on!"
Here's another thought: People are so quick to dismiss the liberal left. Like we are chomping at the bit because she is the opposition and only because of that. The GOP tried to change the discussion by saying that we are just being sexist- forgetting that we were the Party that gave Hillary Clinton 18 million votes to be run as President. The reality is we saw quickly and early that she was UNFIT to VPOTUS and with a 72 year old candidate (hope he has longevity and will be able to serve as a Senator a lot longer,) it is a real possibility that he can die (age, melanoma, being struck by lightening for all his lies....) so it is crucial that the VPOTUS MUST be able to serve. How dare anyone think that her level of understanding and lack of experience qualifies her.
i'll leave it alone here, but it's even more scary to see her words in print. but they must be seen many ways in order to be believed.
http://www.nysun.com/national/palin-only-flag-i... Governor Palin, describing the need for more troops in Afghanistan, said America has achieved "victory" in Iraq. It was an apparent misstep in Ms. Palin's third interview since agreeing to become Senator McCain's running mate nearly one month ago. The Alaska governor told CBS's Katie Couric that "a surge in Afghanistan also will lead us to victory there as it has proven to have done in Iraq," adding that "we cannot afford to retreat, to withdraw in Iraq." Pressed on why her state's proximity to Russia enhanced her foreign policy experience, Ms. Palin said: "Well, it certainly does, because our, our next-door neighbors are foreign countries, there in the state that I am the executive of." She added that when Prime Minister Putin "rears his head and comes into the airspace of the United States of America, where do they go? It's Alaska."
...what????????
pjamma
"The only flag I have in my office is a flag of Israel?" Really Sarah? Really? No US flag, Alaska flag? Yeah that make sense.
I want someone to do a flag line-up with the Israel, Iran, Iraq, Saudi, Tennessee and see if she could pick Israel out of a crowd. Because I think she is lying.
Teacher
Ask her to name the president & prime minister of Israel...or Canada or Mexico.
The last thing we need is another dumb-ass who is also a warmonger.
TruthSeeker
What disturbs me about her, is she was surprised that people could mock her assertion that seeing Russia from Alaska counted as foreign policy. Sarah doesn't know how stupid her answer is, and if she knows, she's become emboldened in her stupidity by McCain elevating her to a position that she's not qualified for. Then she repeated the answer in the Couric interview...as if it had become more plausible....and as if all of us out here are really the "dumb" ones.
Now, you've got an ambitious simpleton and religious fanatic on your hands.....who feels ENTITLED to the highest office in the land. This is the gift of the Republicans. This is McCain's parting gift to America. Another giant "fuck you". You may dodge the bullet this election, but what will stop Repubs from bringing her back time and again.?
Sarah has more ambition than self-awareness.
Many brutal dictators came from small towns, were poorly educated and came from the "peasantry".
Hitler certainly did. He came from a small town in Austria and was an art school DROP-OUT, who went on to become "Der Fuhrer".
OT - My grandfather loved retelling the story of the 1936 Olympics as he would proudly recount the story of Jesse Owens handing the Germans their ass in the competitions; not to mention Joe Louis beating the snot out of Max Schmelling. LOL
Which explains, of course, why she isn't at home with that special-needs newborn of hers, and why she's forcing her daughter into a shotgun wedding with a guy that will surely abuse her...
That is, if the kid doesn't run away and join the Armed Forces to get away from her, first.

And you have to wonder why a person with a journalism degree can't construct a coherent sentence. I agree with whoever said reading the transcripts of her interviews is even worse. Jack is expressing the frustration of millions of citizens who don't have his public forum. Even if the Cryptster lives, do you really want Palin to represent us in ANY international forum? Hell no! She would become a 1st line diplomat & representative of the USA. Will we never learn? We have been humiliated by GWB for 8 years and we are a laughing stock on the planet. What is wrong with american white people that they keep offering up their dumbest, most inane, inarticulate and anti-intellectual for national leadership? Jack is right. This is some scary shit. She is ambitious & evil. She would set up the Cryptkeeper for a coup d'tat in a heart beat. She will only agree to be muzzled until after the election. After that, it's game on.
Teacher, you are preaching knowledge, here. I know for a fact in the UK, those commenters at the BBC follow up her quotes with "What in the hell are the Americans thinking by picking this 'dolt' to be elevated to VP? She clearly can't communicate at high levels where it would be required? You wouldn't allow someone who hadn't finished their O levels (high school) run for an MPs job - what are the crazy Americans thinking?"
We're already branded as "ugly and crazy" Americans. The pick of Sarah Palin and the continued attempt to force this woman down the throats of Americans, proves IT.
GreenLadyHere
Teacher: . . a person with a journalism degree. .
THEREIN LIES [literally] THE ANSWER!! :>) It has been reported/documented that she went to 5 different schools in 6 years B4 obtaining her bachelor's degree! [Or 6 schools in 5 years - really doesn't make any difference.]
This is ENOUGH to cause one ta pause.
BUT, IFFF one cain't pause there, THEN one might proceed to ask:
1. WHICH schools?
2. Were they ACCREDITED?
3. What was their STATUS among reputable institutions of higher learning?
4. How does someone keep a consistent course of study going among so many institutions?
5. Which institution actually awarded the degree? Was it a BS or BA?
6. Who's got the copies of the graduation CEREMONY [ya know, like the beauty pageant VIDEO? :>)]??
7. Who has a copy of the DIPLOMA [ya know, like Mr. Obama's birth certificate -NO! I'm NOT EQUATING THEM! THERE IS NO COMPARISON!! In fact. I now think that it is blasphemous to put their names in the same sentence. :>)]
8. How has she proven that her course of study gave her any SKILLS in journalism? [Ya know, like her skills in basketball.]
I'm believin' that she Barracuda'ed[I know - NOT a verb. :>)] her way into the political positions that she obtained annnnnd, that "the first dude" provided some elbow power. Annnnd, BTW, he hasn't been VETTED. This becomes CHAPTER 2!!
That's the "short response", TEACHER! :>) :>)
L8R! Obama-Biden '08!!!
Teacher
GLH, one can buy a degree off the internet, or she could have her 2nd daughter make one with a photoshop program. Neither Bill Gates nor Ted Turner actually graduated from college, and when my brother hit Wall street in the 80's there were many very rich, old, white brokers/industry leaders who did not have degrees and who were not impressed by those coming in with their Ivy League MBA's. What is my point? The degree doesn't make the person, but if one bothers to get a degree, the public should be able to presume that it is because the person has achieved a certain skill level.
(Putting on Kitty's tin foil hat) This could be some Karl Rovian/Dick Cheneyian subterfuge. No one would be surprised at all if anything alluding to this was leaked. She seems all too willing to become the face of Oz (as in, pay no attention to that man behind the curtain), knowing she would walk in as an upper middle class (pay scale) person and walk out as a multi-millionaire. They probably even promised to throw in a double wide for Bristol & Levi. It's easy to imagine them selling it to her as her national duty because God Almighty has ordained us to defeat Islam. All they need is a person who can read the speeches they write, (and they figure she can learn) while they continue to raid the national coffers of the future (because they are currently empty). Thats all they asked of W. They need their person to be dumb enough not to ask questions or put 2 & 2 together if they smell a rat. They need someone who is too dumb to make certain documentation that would implicate the puppet master in the case of impeachment. Sarah P. is their girl! (Thanks, Kitty-handing back the tinfoil hat).
GreenLadyHere
Teacher: As I read through your wisdom, I just want to soak it in. BUT, your humor breaks though, and I'm laughing! So forgive. :>)
. . but if one bothers to get a degree. . .achieved a certain SKILL level. . .
THAT was my POINT #8! Where da skills??? :>)

Looks like Jack hi-jacked McCain's Straight Talk Express.
I'm with Nquest on this one: Wolf's attempted rationalizations or attempt to blunt the harshness of Jack's blow were intellectually dishonest and semi-unprofessional. If he is going to give Jack a place on his show for Jack's punditry then let him have his say and don't try to muzzle him. Wolf and Crowley spend so much time trying to LOOK objective, as compared to actually BEING objective, that they just end up looking AND being intellectually dishonest.
Palin IS a damn trainwreck - why can't Jack say that and let it stand without clarification, excuse or rationalization? McCain IS a big fat liar, liar, why can't Crowley acknowledge that without grasping at straws to find examples of Obama misrepresenting?
GreenLadyHere
banjalady: Hey! :>) Crowley was so in the pocket of billary and, initially, sounded like she was supporting Mr. Obama. But that was short-lived! She 2, kept giving on-air advice!
That's when I GAVE HER UP!! Sooo, I have NO EXPECTATIONS of her "fairness" in reporting. I tune her out!!
It's time for a national moment of reckoning with this VP pick. Even if the gruesome death prospect is taken out, we still have Palin on the world stage saying "don't see trade as some scary thing" or, in that same Couric interview, sticking her finger in her mouth to show the wind-test criticism of Obama. This is a statesman??
On Jack? right,CPL, he's not one to scatter blows. Refreshing. On Wolf? We gotta realize that he's quintessentially cooler than Sugar Bear (never ever in an unfly suit or with an imperfect beard-to-hair transition), and what he did was as smooth as he is. Palin and Cafferty put him in a position of calling her out for obvious incompetence. Wolf (brushing dirt) says with an easy lean, "Yes, it was not her best answer." Always above the fray... "Can't get enough of that Sugar Crisp... Sugar Crisp... Sugar Crisp... Can't get enough of that Sugar Crisp... It keeps me going strong".
I think there is a fine line from giving unbiased coverage and lying. For some time CNN has tried to make us believe they are fair and unbiased, while hiding the real story: she's out of her league.
Looks like Campbell and Cafferty are at the end of the rope with this... FINALLY!
TruthSeeker
Campbell is a self-serving pain in the ass.
They set Bounds up to get ratings. Now, the outcome was good.... But what it says is that Campbell knows how to do her job, but fails to do it until she needs to bolster her numbers. Why wasn't she being a good journalist all along?

Obama-Biden '08!!!
nawimean
I wish more talking heads would just tell the truth about her. They're all so scared to be labeled as sexist that they refuse to legitimately criticize her. Palin lacks and grasp of the major issues of the day and the intellectual depth to comprehend them. This becomes frighteningly obvious the more and more she opens her mouth. Its time to call a spade a spade, or a moose, a moose - whatever works.
GreenLadyHere
nawimean: Hey! :>) Co-sign. OR a Caribou a Caribou; OR a seal a seal; OR a bear a bear; OR a walrus a walrus; OR a Tyrannosaurus rex a Tyrannosaurus rex; OR an "Elephant" an "Elephant" - ya know, the one that sits in the middle of the room, BUT ya don't talk about it! [RACE]
Moose-Killer who eats moose-burgers. That's all Palin's known for.
That's not saying much. Forget the rumor mill about this woman - every time she opens her mouth, she removes all doubt about her competence, her credibility and her ability to run the country should something happen to McCain.
McCain deserves to lose just for putting this cow on the ticket of one of the most historic and important elections of all time. He should be arrested and tried for attempted treason, high crimes and misdemeanors.
But it's women anchors who are calling out Palin on her shyt.
Campbell Brown, Katie Couric, Meredith Viera on the TODAY show; Rachel Maddow, Kathleen Parker and others.
The fact that the growing call for "smelling like BS" is coming from women eliminates the sexist meme and allows for pundits like Jack Cafferty to go full bore and call this woman out on her painfully obvious incompetence. At this point, I'm wondering how the hell she got elected Mayor of a Small Town, let alone Governor of the largest land mass state in the Union?
Women don't like women who slide into positions they don't deserve. Sarah Palin is the equivalent of a PTA president and she's trying to slide into the VP position on the back of Hillary Clinton's popularity. Women don't like it when they've had to go to school and not be taken seriously because they're women, and worker harder than a man, all to see some bimbo get chosen for such a high position all because she's marginally cute and eats mooseburgers. When they know that other GOP women have gone to school, put in the time, worked the committees, gotten the experience but were looked over because maybe they weren't as cute and perky as Sarah. Women don't like it when they know if Chelsea Clinton had gotten pregnant at 17 she would have been called all sorts of whores and trash (like Jamie Lynn Spears was called) but because Sarah's part of the in-crowd it's hands off Bristol because she's the child of the chosen one.
So I understand why women are leading the charge against Sarah Palin just like I understand why the McCain camp is keeping Cindy out of the spotlight and spinning their "love" story because when women discover that Cindy was the pill popping other woman that Johnny Mac dumped his long suffering wife for, they aren't too keen on Cindy.
And the galling thing about women like Sarah Palin is this: they actually think they have every right to be in the big leagues and they have the right to slide in on the efforts of others. The Campbell Browns and Katie Courics are looking at this chick like "If I was stupid like this, nobody ever would have hired me. I'd still be reporting the traffic or weather on the 5:30 am news."
So Palin was brought in to snatch the women's vote, but I think women will be the ones to do Palin in.
And despite her own intelligence and poltical chops. a front piece for her husband's ambition.
Just like Sarah Palin.
They are two sides of the same coin.
One brilliant. The other stupid as a pullet.
Both vicious.
Neither a feminist.

CPL: I'm believin' that the motivation of these women to call her out, is that they are, finally, sufficiently, embarrassed by "The Gov." giving women with the "white gene" a "bad reputation!"
They know how hard they had to work to get to their positions and they are, finally, getting the cajones to ask/say, how did "she" just get picked off that proverbial "TURNIP TRUCK" and put into this position without paying "any DUES!?"
So I'm believin' that this is a "revolt" against the "men with the white gene"! Annnnnd. perhaps a statement to them, that they "betta NOT do that again!! They had betta "VET" the next person that they bring on as "competition! - OR ELSE!!
Annnnnd, maybe some of them are "addressing" the affairs that they have been subjected to in their relationship/marriages; where they "took it" for the benefit of the children, their own financial survival or whatever! IMHO!!
See, a sista would have put someone "on blast" a long time ago! I'm believin' that the "white gene" sistERhood is, finally, coalescing around this issue. IMHO :>)
GreenLady, all of you are correct on your take regarding Palin and white women. Most of these women busted their asses to get where they are, in addition to affirmative action giving a BIG assist - but they also have the merit to stay where they are when they get in the door. They see all of their hard work being nullified by Sarah Palin, via John McCain.
And the polls are verifying - McCain with his condescending attitude towards Obama could easily be applied to them, too and that's pissing them off. You may very well see a lot of white women revolt by telling their husbands "Yes, dear, I'm voting for McCain" but once they get in that voting booth and it comes out for Obama, those husbands will be crying "WTH" while their wives murmur in soothing tones with their secret that they voted for Obama instead of McCaint.
The men know who Sarah Palin is too: the bimbo receptionist who dropped that call that lost you the biggest deal of your career to date all those years ago....
They won't vote for McCain either.
rikyrah
and unlike us, These women KNOW the qualified GOP women. They socialize with them, they live in the same neighborhoods. those are the women, like them., but just Republican. They can relate to those women.
I've said before, it's not like the GOP female bench was EMPTY (like the Black GOP bench). They've got a nice -sized bench, of women who have paid their dues and know their shit. I'd never vote for them, but i wouldn't be insulted everytime I see them on tv like I feel with Caribou Barbie.
when folks like Katie, Meredith, et al, look at Palin and think about the qualified GOP women that they know?
they can't help but seeth.

rikyrah: Soooo ta-rue on all points!! Well said! :>)
I'm with Jack... DON'T TRY TO MAKE EXCUSES FOR PALIN!!
Apparently Jack was one of the few CNN personalities who didn't get the excuse making memo. If it wasn't Wolf trying to rationalize Palin not giving her "best answer" and trying to act like "(you have to understand) she's been cramming an awful lot..." as if it would have been acceptable for any other likely VP candidate to still be in training and not expected to pass basic interview tests... THEN it was Ed Rollins and Paul Begala talking about the McCain campaign ruined her confidence by being so afraid of letting her be herself when she addresses the media.
Yeah, like that's the sh*t they would say if Tim Pawlenty would have been the VP, let alone Romney, Huck-a-berry or Rudy!Rudy!
