If we are being objective though, how do we explain the ~$1 Trillion+ in new social spending that Sen. Obama is proposing without any reasonable explanation of how to pay for it? Soaking the "rich", at the low level Sen. Obama defines as the "rich", will increase unemployment and decrease employee wages- important, given how many people rely on small business owners for jobs today.

For example, I know that this little gizmo called Obama's Tax Cut says that Obama's tax plan will increase my taxes about $14K/year over McCain's. A tax increase like that is likely to be offset directly out of the pockets a lot of small business owners' employees. I don't know yet how I would adjust to it.

And how does he explain that ~40% of the 95% he purports to cut taxes on...don't actually pay taxes? Some (and I admit I haven't done the research on what %) already receive a tax subsidy in the form of Earned Income Credit, despite paying no taxes. Will these citizens receive a tax cut from President Obama too?

In my opinion, Sen. Obama would be wise to revise his income redistribution plan in the same way that he has modified his initial plan to raise the capital gains tax from 15% to 28%, a position he modified after a meeting with Warren Buffett and friends whom we can guess told him that doing so would trash the stock market between election day and inauguration day. A more reasonable definition of who is "rich" would definitely be useful in persuading those of us who are 80-90% of the way on board with a President Obama but aren't with the class warfare. I know I get up every day to go to work. How rich could I be?

Why is no one challenging Sen. Obama on these fundamental economic issues given the pornographic expansion of government we've experienced under Bush? Maybe it is time to do some serious reductions in spending. We can't afford more of the same. Literally.

Dr. Greenspan could not be more correct that the Bush Administration has been an economic disaster.
