Van- I missed hearing you at CGI because I was in the education track downstairs but I heard you made a huge impact. Your message is important at times like this because, unlike all the inflammatory rhetoric being passed around, you offer a message about what can be done that takes us to another level. Looking forward to your book and understanding more about how to get some traction on your ideas–especially in the rust belt where I live

I saw an interview with Mr Jones this weekend on the Weather Channel and was mesmerized. He should have been on CNN's so called special about being black in America. The sense of pride i feel is overwhelming because i'm so discouraged by the normal tactics of mass media to portray black men as egotistical, criminal, or lazy. What if this thing was truly, fully supported by government. The possibilities are endless. Truely, this is the perfect opportunity for a new “New Deal” but with Green jobs. Even if the unthinkable happens and McCain wins, we cannot let past generations of Black activists down and sit back and fall back into “i got mine” sensibilities.

To any young evangelicals who might be a part of JJP, please support Cizik. Evangelicals who are left of center get very little representation, and Cizik has caught flack in some circles for his committment to creation care. Please, show your numbers and be heard and support non-conservative initiatives.

okay, a little off topic, but at the Netroots Nation conference, Van Jones perfectly summed up my feelings to those critics who worry just how much Obama will or will not be able to accomplish as president. he said:

“I don't need a President to fix everything — I need a president to stop breaking everything.”
