I was raised Catholic and what you first posted makes sense to how we are in this society. Since I removed the shackles of Catholicism because it was used to spirit out the barbarian of my races, Irish, Native American and Mexican, I think I resorted to seeing a good and giving God. I like to think of God giving us sex so that we would always have a way to enjoy our human form.

It kind of takes the place of having to go through a man made structure to live a little heaven on earth, so to speak.

I have just read an article about the faith of Mother Teresa and how she believed the suffering was good for mankind to be close to God. She's gone down in my estimation. Her deeds are diminished.

Faith is a strange topic and it gives us pause to know how others feel and believe. Thank you for sharing.

Just getting back to this.

Lilytiger, it probably wasn't clear in my comment that I think this worldview is ridiculously ugly and wrong. But I do think that.

Knowing that it is part of Christianity helped me to better understand the society I live in, though. Because such a worldview is entirely alien to me (I am not and have never been Christian, individually or in family/ancestry)

CPL, you should probably take statements from Hannity, Limbaugh and Beck regarding Obama and juxtapose them with the ones made about McCain and Palin.

The revelation about Palin being a member of an Alaskan seccesion group should be perfect fodder to use against Hannity who used Obama's tangental relationship to Ayers as some sort of albatross. Also, as bad as he made Rev. Wright out to be, the pastor never joined a group that wanted a state to secede from this country.

You can add a seperate religious leaders section to view their flip-flops as well. The idiot who prayed for rain during the DNC should receive prime attention given what is taking place this wee.

Why then did God create it and have us as sexual beings the entire year and from puberty on? That isn't like the rest of the animal kingdom.

Personally, I thought sex was God's gift to the poor, you could always find heaven no matter how much or how little money you had.

I am not sure where in the bible that is from.

LOL

Exactly. Trolls come up on here saying that black people need to stop sucking the Democrats' tits and that black people should also consider what the Republican party has to say.

BUT

Why should black people consider what the Republican party has to say when the Republican party DOES NOT SUPPORT their own black candidates?

D.

You do realize that the majority of Americans will not serve in the military, right? Are you saying the only Americans that count are military ones?

If so, that's almost treasonous!

You don't think a 17 year old's pregnancy is a negative? How about at 12 year old's? How about a 25 year old rape victim?

You and Malkin believe the your nation pivots on the anti-choice issue?

Malkin is a dumbass. Those who quote her are _______________.

Don't you think legislating choice based on a religious viewpoint - or otherwise - is violating a woman's rights "for her own good"?

--never mind.

I happen to think women should have a choice and be in full control of their bodies (including deciding whether to have unprotected sex and perhaps get pregnant); but then they must deal with the consequences of their actions.

Oh Benevolent one. Thou art the giver of choices, and the distributor of consequences?

Consequences do not arise naturally, like vegetation. They are imposed, man-made devices of punishment. Nature offers only choices, and benevolence.

Because Sarah Palin DARES to disagree with the idea of abortion, SHE MUST BE A RADICAL EXTREMIST who is going to "FORCE" millions of women to "give birth against their will".

Sara Palin doesn't disagree for herself only. Perhaps if she had remained a private citizen, no one would have known or cared. However, Sarah seeks public office of the highest order. So, she doesn't merely disagree privately - she wishes to legislate her opinion.

Do you believe the Religious right is just playin'? Do you think they have spent tens of millions on lobbyists and strategists just for fun? More importantly, do you think those who affirm choice believe fanatics are playin'? They mean what they say. The intend to legislate choice.

Religion wages war against nature, a battle it is doomed to lose...over and over again.

Nature laughs.

Obama's comment about it being above his pay grade was in reference to the fact that America is not a theocracy. Barack is not a Biologist, nor is he a philosopher or Religious guru. He is seeking the office of President. A President tends to the business of governing ALL the people. He balances carefully the needs and rights of ALL. Questions about when life begin are above the pay grade of even Religious leaders....but, I suppose, they must have SOMETHING with which to occupy their time.

What you happen to think is of little consequence...until you decide to seek public office and legislate your opinion.

I happen to think women should have a choice and be in full control of their bodies (including deciding whether to have unprotected sex and perhaps get pregnant); but then they must deal with the consequences of their actions.

Because Sarah Palin DARES to disagree with the idea of abortion, SHE MUST BE A RADICAL EXTREMIST who is going to “FORCE” millions of women to “give birth against their will”.

Sara Palin doesn't disagree for herself only. Perhaps if she had remained a private citizen, no one would have known or cared. However, Sarah seeks public office of the highest order. So, she doesn't merely disagree privately – she wishes to legislate her opinion.

More importantly, do you think those who affirm choice believe fanatics are playin'? They mean what they say. The intend to legislate choice.
