I see in the first comment that some don't see the relationship between Black and Green, but there's nothing to stop Green from mirroring the overall economy with the potential to leave black behind when it takes off or to affect black in the worst way if it underachieves. Green could, in fact, be worse.

From William Greider to the General Accounting Office there have been numerous studies that show bad times disproportionately affecting blacks, and particularly black males, e.g. first to lose jobs in a recession while white, asian, hispanic, latino actually gain during the same period. That is: we are the first source to absorb the negative impact.

That's not anti- any other ethnicity, just a structural reality.

Here is my problem with your comments though, why do you possibly think this is a “Black” issue or any other racial type issue?
A lot of people from all races and backgrounds have suffered huge losses if not lost all of their investments and possesions. To try and make this a “black” problem and infer that “blacks” have lost more then others is highly racial, not true and not needed. Don't make it something it is not. “Blacks” do need any more or any less help to get through this then any other race. The “entitlement” idology is what has caused a lot of these problems. It is the same “entitlement” idiology that is now driving the president and may other politicians to try and bail-out wall street on the backs of hard working tax-payers. Stop this vicious circle of racial bias that accomplishes nothing.

We can accomplish a lot more if we approch all issues with neutrality of race or eithnic background. Lets work together on improving all of our lives and those around without this kind of prejudice. We will accomplish more working united as Americans and ultimatly as world citizens if don't let petty things like race, eithnic background or religion bog us down. ONE NATION UNDER GOD! UNITED!

I think Green is where it is at. We need to create products and not just services to get our economy going. I am pretty much a greenie as I have been sponsoring to keep the Cascades (Mountains in WA) as undeveloped as possible for over five years. I am lucky to live in a place where organic and environmentally friendly are the norm and still we could do so much more.

Living in NYC, I actually think to myself “I can't stay here too much longer”, simply because it will ruin my health (and my pocketbook, but that’s a story for another day). The pollution is astounding. Even when taking the train, fumes are strong from the combination of exhaust smoke, garbage, and plain ole human waste stuck underground with very little ventilation. You can't convince me that this is not affecting my lungs. We need to turn things around with the quickness.

Our people really have the opportunity to be in the forefront of this movement in lasting, fiscal way. As soon as we get involved in something established, they change the game against our favor. We must start at the ground level if we have even a minute chance of coming out on top. We must hold our representatives accountable and demand that they start working for us instead of for Freddie and Fran.

Let's make Black the new Green.
