In the past 10 years I have been active in various forms. Roll Call: church groups, service groups, advocacy groups, activist groups, leadership groups, and grassroots groups.

The biggest impact in propelling me to be serious about lifelong pursuit of justice is the Chicago Urban Project through InterVarsity Christian Fellowship (IVCF).

The way the urban project was done was a bit different when I did it five years ago (college students from all over the US were able to participate if they wanted). It was a very diverse (racial-ethnic, political, and social-economic) set of people who lived in West Side Chicago for two months and learned about corporate greed, real estate, Chicago Politics, and looking at how a local church aims to shine a light and let God reign in the midst and what our responsibilities as Christians were in this process.

IVCF is non-partisan, so when I was a member in college we'd get into interesting debates and discussion about politics. But it was always done in love. It was fascinating to see people grow from Republican to Democrat, or Apathetic to Republican, or Democrat to Moderate, or Moderate to Progressive, or Progressive to Conservative, utterly fascinating, you have no idea, lol. But it just goes to show that Christians, even Evangelical Christians, are not the monolithic group that McCain/Palin would like to hope they are. The younger (my) generation is asking more of our politics than what has been previously offered. The game is stale and old. We are asking for transformation. Even if we disagree on what that transformation should be.

My whole foundation as an activist is through community organizations for the purpose of community transformation. This is an educated man who knows better. It was what Tweety said it was: code words to the bigots to start using the word to describe Obama as an community organizer that only bigots and racist can hear to equate him with either Jesse Jackson or Al Sharpton.

Clearly, it has backfired and I noticed that that line of attack was dropped from her campaign stump speech even though they are still using the Bridge to Nowhere and the others.

Yes, Tweety called it right and Chuck Todd either through intentional ignorance or outright lying has shown just how bad the media is trying to win this election for John McCain. Just think, if the backlash had not occurred they would still be using this line in their attack, but lamely try to say she was responding to them denigrating her time as a small town mayor. Not true. Obama welecomed her cordially into the race, only to be met with vicious scripted attacks from a woman who wouldn't know the truth if it came up and slapped her.

I watched Hardball for a minute when Chuck Todd was asked about the community organizer smear and much to my amazement he pooh pooh it as having no relevancy.
