As for his most worthy opponent and an invididual I would not mind at
all seeing as our President, the choice is just as important. Like JFK
48 years ago, Sen. Obama is an exotic figure. JFK was a Catholic (very
big deal back then), from a rich East Coast family while Nixon though
from Calif., was your watcha see is whatcha get “middle Amrica” sort of
guy; at least that was the image his handlers created. Though they
really didn't like each other much, Kennedy knew Johnson on the ticket
would help him carry just enough of the country to make it a
photo-finish and one that historians still debate.

I really hope someone on the Obama campaign staff is reading Theodore
H. White's “The Making of the President – 1960″. I was 14 then, an
exciting time to be a kid.

I think he goes with Pawlenty because of the star quality (non-existant).

Romney's good-looking, young (only in his 50s) and looks too vigorous propped up next to Grandpa McCain; he's also on record as only being married once, still married to his wife, (who has MS, BTW), no record of having cheated on her – his only drawback with the fundie crowd is that he's a Mormon.

That can be overcome, but he just makes McCain LOOK BAD.

If Sen. Obama is to prevail, he must likewise balance the ticket with a governor, not a senator. Two senators haven't won the White House since Kennedy & Johnson (with Johnson's carrying the South for the penultimate time), and Kennedy with perhaps a little help, carrying Chicago by 120,000 votes. Interestingly Nixon also chose a sitting Senator, Henry Cabbot Lodge. I was around then kids, this I know.

I'd love to see Sen. Obama invite Gov. Sebelius of Kansas onto the ticket. She can effectively neutralize the “Hillary Faction” even if they hoot and holler at the Convention. Secondly, governors know a thing or two about administration. Though Obama's campaign shares next to nothing with the Bush/Cheney administration, it does share this: the choice of Vice President by Sen. Obama will be absolutely critical to the success of his Presidency assuming he wins in Nov.

If McCain chooses either Pawlenty or Romney and Obama chooses Biden or Bayh of Indiana Mc Cain will win. He will serve one term and in 2012 Romney or Pawlenty will run against guess who? That's right, campers Sen. Hillary Clinton.

Perhaps it's because they feel they can talk to Obama; he's intelligent. I had no clue as to how hated America is until I left and went to England – Gee Shrubya has caused that much damage in global relations around the world.

You might have a point regarding the IMF and the World Bank because they rip off developing countries while saying they're helping and they are screwing them over while saying they help. And the history of colonialism has a good deal to do with that. They might be looking to Obama the same way Africa is looking to China – no colonial history to deal with; a clean slate.

Obama is African-American, but somewhat without the historical baggage that the majority have; they may feel he's a “clean slate” in dealing with them.

Likewise, McCain's other stupid statements about 100 years in Iraq (which would bankrupt the USA), and needing $5 million to be rich (of course a Republican would say that). But Obama needs to fight, darn it!

Not only Obama but his surrogates need to be pounding McCain.

Come to think of it, people, WE are Obama's surrogates! Let's write letters to the editor, call into talk shows, slamming McCain about the economy, starting whispering campaigns about his “family credentials” to raise doubt among conservatives (he is divorced, after all, calling his wife a “c**t”), talking about McCain's affairs and other things. With their sleazy attacks on Obama, the McCain campaign has made it clear that this is war, and in a war, you fight hard and you hit your enemy 100 times as hard as they hit you! So let's hit McCain hard!
