Same thing with Olympics soccer: The Olympics have always allowed for 3 players over the 23-year old limit per team. When in 2000 Cameroon maximized its 3 over-23 year old players and won the olympics soccer cup, the Olympic committee then decided to ban the 3 over-age players they had previously allowed.

My bad, it was Kareem. The discussion even went to raising the hoop from 10ft to 12 feet. They outlawed dunks in college basketball for the longest because of him.

Then there is Surya Bonaly of France, a nine time French national champion, five time European champion, and three time World silver medalist. Sadly, she never won an Olympic medal, though she competed in three Olympics (5th place in '92, 4th place in '94, and 10th place in '98).

Surya was a competitive gymnast before switching to figure skating, which is why she was able to perform the back flip better than anyone else in figure skating history, in a laid out position with the ability to land on one skate. Often she would connect the one footed landing to an immediate spiral, and sometimes even a triple salchow.

The backflip was outlawed in official competition by the International Skating Union in 1977 because it is considered too dangerous, but Bonaly would always perform the trick in warm-ups, exhibitions, and non-ISU sanctioned professional competitions.

They dont, but the caucus states Barack did best in, were all voters that fit the Obama demographic. Personally I hope all her wrongdoigs are re-examined, but given the demographics in NY the more people here about her hard working white people comments, the better effect they have..

I'm glad someone posted about Ickes. I wondered why Clinton didn't capitalize more on his knowledge of the system. Of course it could be that she wasn't going to be supported by the activist base of the party anyway and solely focused on the insiders to bypass all of us regular folk.

There was a 12 year old girl caught in the crossfire fighting between Russia & Georgia. She made it out and back to the US and lives in San Francisco. Her adult relatives have been on the round of news show blasting the Georgian President and blaming him as the cause, meanwhile the US is blaming Russia. I was flipping through shows and they were on Fake Noise. As soon as the aunt said that they cut her off!
