Civil Rights Activist Fannie Lou Hamer. Very few have fought to empower the Black community-politically- more than Mrs. Hamer. Through her work with the Mississippi Freedom Democratic Party, she broke down the barriers to make the Votings Rights Act means something in electoral politics for Black folk.
