Obama Headquarters in MN Vandalized

After an exciting day for the Obama campaign, a local branch is having a bit of a set back.

The local campaign office for Senator Obama was vandalized early Sunday morning, a little after 1:00.

Police responded to the Raymond Avenue office in St. Paul to find two large plate glass windows and a glass door completely smashed out. There was also paint splattered on the outside and inside of the building.

One person was inside at the time of the incident but was not hurt.

No suspects are in custody yet.

Griff Jenkins, a Fox Television correspondent, was waiting with a microphone for a crowd of demonstrators on a Denver street today, hoping to catch signs of a breakup of the herd of cats known as the American Left.

The crowd came ten, twelve abreast up the street. One group held up a banner saying No War In Iran. Chanting was happening. Griff was casting the scene as a discontented, perhaps unstable, mob out to oppose some things, maybe defend Hillary ( Fox's new g/f), or to assault whatever nefarious scheme the Party has in store. Whatever it was Grifff was Going In.

I've only seen the clip only once, so I'm sure I didn't get it totally right, but I know funny. And it is hilarious.
Griff, an affable pencil neck, went to the middle of the street and waitied for the march to envelop him. Here they came, hordes of scruffy, awful looking people with who knows what on their minds, seemingly capable of World Bank, er, world class anarchy. Fox viewers watched with anticipation on the edges of their scratchy plaid furniture. What would happen?

Griff valiantly held up his mike to the first guy, "What are you demonstrating about?"

"Fuck you," came the reply.

Undaunted, Griff tried again, holding up his blunt instrument to another demonstrator, then another.

Maybe a half dozen answers pretty much exactly the same: Fuck you, fuck you, fuck you, fuck you, fuck you.
They were mostly smiling, no doubt drenched in cannabisism.

Then Griff hit paydirt: a protester who could ( would), speak a sentence. "We don't talk to Fox."

Then, the comical wrap. As Griff was trying to engage this guy, he and his cameraman were jostled by the closing crowd and so as the picture shook with hand-held verite and Griff slid off the frame, we heard him crying, hey, don't.... <black>

Cut to studio where shaken blondehead huffs that the crowd has disrupted Griff's report, adding that she hope's he's all right. Something like that. I was gasping with pleasure by then.

Haha. That's pretty funny.

They started up a chant: "fuck fox news, fuck fox news!", punctuated by the finger. Then the reporter said "thats' not necessary!".....lol. Then it went to the studio..the camera swinging around wildly. Griff said apparently, they don't believe in free speech.

The blond says: there you see our Griff Jenkins, in the crowd giving them a chance to speak to say what their message is, and they're not even talking, just screaming and yelling at him...we'll make sure he's ok.

Are Africans Trumping African-Americans?

I read the article and to me the question in and of itself lends to the same tactical mentality (divide the mind and conquer) that was used during slavery by white people to seperate black folks as house negro vs field negro. No matter what, entertaining the idea that Africans trump African-Americans or vice versa would mean buying into the idea that we are to be viewed, judged and defined. To me...what matters most is how we see ourselves through our own lens. For the minds of those in society that registers a perceived superiority by the color of your skin...we are all black without any level of delineation.

It's interesting how those remarks didn't make it into his ad."


Meanwhile, the Obama campaign released a short video about Joe Biden, along with a “thank you” to the Obama campaign e-mail list and -- surprise! -- not so much as a single request to send in some cash. Biden does ask people to sign up, get involved, volunteer and talk with their neighbors. I guess since Politico.com reported the "whip team" news earlier in the week, it was just wasn't as attractive of a narrative as this idea that Hillary supporters being snubbed by Obama supposedly not vetting Hillary no matter how much he's played super twister giving the Clintons major roles on 3 nights of HIS nomination convention (Hillary's speech on Tuesday, Bill's on Wednesday and the roll-call Thursday).

The thing is, Hillary is emotionally incapable of yielding. Most people learn how, and when to let go....it can be tactically smart. But Hillary is incapable of giving an inch. It's self-destructive. It's what caused her first try at HealthCare to fail. She was abrasive and unwilling to compromise.

Now, she's got to put out a statement saying she'll release her delegates...AFTER the vote. She had to be forced to say this because of the Repub ads. But she STILL only gives the bare minimum that she's FORCED to. Hillary plays things right on the edge, flirting with ruin...not understanding that there's power in yielding.

Obama can use this as a test to see if she's really learned anything. Give her everything she requests and see how she handles it. He would be unwise to entrust HealthCare reform to her, seeing that she has that same bad attitude.

How many times you wanna bet Mike Barnicle mentions Biden is Irish Catholic, went to Catholic schools, etc. It is a little annoying frankly. In the wake of Tim Russert's death, Barnicle, Matthews, Scarborough, really overdid it mentioing every second it. Barnicle already did a piece in recent days where he mentioned, oh at least five times.

Well, Obama "take the high road" azz contributed to that a long time ago when he tried to diffuse all the "is America ready for a Black president?" talk by saying if he's not elected it will not be because of his race but because [WHITE] Americans didn't think he had the best plan on economic issues, etc.

Anyway, I completely agree with how that whole narrative is a media set-up and a lack of creativity on their part. Their using the same exact narrative they used during the primaries. Somehow then, no matter how many White voters in PA, KY, WV, OH, etc. indicated they would not vote for Obama because of his race, it was Obama's problem.

CNN is also suggesting that foreign policy is at the top of the ticket again with the emergence of the Soviet Union's aggression. I don't know which voters their talking to, but the economy is still or should be America's No. 1 priority.

This talk is going to keep occuring. It can be tied to energy policy. Energy does not just consist of oil. It is electricity and how electricity is produced. it is all the by products of oil: diesel fuel, heating oil, naptha, aviation fuel. All of these are tied to the cost of distributing goods which is a big part of the economy.

Oil is also raw material. We produce plastic and fertilizer. The former is ubiqutious. As the latter it it responsible for raising most of the crops in the country. Go to a farmers market in your town and talk to one and ask him how he is doing.

Obama must tie the energy and the economy together. The drill, drill and drill nonsense can shown to be false. You can be skeptical about Boone Pickens plan but it is a start. As a program it can be inspirational like the space program was: Energy independence in ten years.

I should probably be used to the BS, but the level of BS that crops daily makes my head want to explode.

Hilary supporters feel as if Obama did not reach out enough to include her in the VP decision process. WTF! Since when did the loser get to be consulted on what should be the candidiate's perogative. I have not heard ANYONE suggest that Romney or Huckabee should be involved in the process. As a matter of fact, on every interview they make a point to say they have no participation of knowledge of McCain's VP process.

George Will on This Week was an ass as usual. He actually had the nerve to do the "laddey da" (spelling) head shake when Donna Brazille was speaking on McSame's inabliity to recount the number of homes he owns. However, he is the same ass to repeatedly drive home that Obama is arrogant and has a massive ego.

Also, did anyone notice Cokie Roberts was wearing a Susan B. Anthony pin on her lapel? I don't recall her ever wearing it before. I maybe wrong. I do wonder if it was symbolic or a signal though.

I really just wish someone had the guts to call a spade a spade. I want someone in the media to say the real reason the Clintonistas who say they are staying home, or voting for McCain rather than vote for Obama.. Chris Matthews was on his was the other night in round a way when questioning one of these chicks who started a blog. She actually said when questioned she 'would not be sad if Obama lost the general election". She also told Matthews HE was the inspiration for her blog, hence their anger. That is what get me. When citing all of their sexism claims, they never point to Obama directly (other than he should have stood he for her), it is the media they blame.

You are so right about this idea that the Clintonista's sexism claim has no legs when they are trying to attach it to Obama. Chris Matthews and his colleagues can be lumped in there but not Obama. He has always showed a level of graciousness towards her even if she didn't deserve it or do the same...and if I hear one more person say what they think Obama should or could be doing for her, my head will explode as well!

The convention credentials committee voted unanimously to restore the voting privileges at the behest of Barack Obama, the party's presumptive nominee for president. The states were initially stripped of delegates for holding primaries before Feb. 5. The party's rules committee restored the delegates in May, but gave them only half votes.

It's funny 'cause my father, who is 72, taught himself how to use the internet in the past four or five months ( with a little bit of help from me over the phone). In the past 25 years or so, McCain hasnt struggled one bit. he doesnt know (nor does he care to know) what's like to struggle with student loans or healthcare cost. He doesnt know what's like sit at the kitchen table deciding whether to pay the rent or buy medication......that should be the real litmus test for the presidency.

It is the lack of interest or curiousity that is key here. It's not that he can't know; it's that he doesn't care to know. And, at 73 with wealth and access to technology - the odds of him developing a curiosity when he hasn't already - get slimmer by the second.

Definitely - I've noticed that the MSM has started talking about Barack's distant half brother, probably to setup an attack on his character/morals but I see no one speaking about McCain's ex-wife.

I also keep hearing how Obama should speak out for Hillary especially because of how she was treated during the race. As a woman, I didn't think anyone did anything to offend her (especially the way she was dishing it out). As a Black person, I do feel Obama was wronged/undermined in many ways.

As most of you know by now, the difference maker for me in supporting Barack Obama in the primaries was the fact the he is the Media Darling of the election. Today, in the NYTimes, you see what I mean in Maureen Dowd's column:

Dowd pointed out several times when Campaign McCain tried to "get out of jail" on the POW card credit. On none of those individual occasions did the media say anything about McCain/campaign trying to skirt criticism by invoking his POW status.

Now when they tell it, they say that Mother Theresa asked Cindy to take the child. Cindy has actually told this story and the cryptster told it again @ the saddleback interview. Its a lie! She has never met Mother Theresa. They were forced to remove yet another fabrication from their website. So this lets you in on the character of Cindy McCain. It has also been suggested that they don't show their daughter of color because it would get a negative reaction from racists. So on the one hand, they pimp her adoption, but on the other, they keep her in the closet. None of this is surprising though.

Why a farce?

The way Hillary Clinton and her supporters have been treated by Barack Obama could very well serve to take away their enthusiasm for supporting him. If that happens, the greatest beneficiary of Obama's diss of the Clintons will be John McCain. And McCain knows it.

Obama is worried about PA. As we have discussed here, Biden, Irish-Catholic with Scranton, working-class roots, needs to bring those voters over to Obama.

But Biden is the wrong messenger to send to the union halls of Scranton, Akron, Wheeling, and Flint. There is another prominent Democrat who hails from Scranton. One who has the qualities and connections with working-class whites and high school educated blue collar workers. One who has demonstrated an ability to draw those voters in large numbers, even after the ultimate result of the primaries was all but assured. That Democrat is Hillary Clinton.

Divide and conquer.

Obama has treated Clinton and her supporters way better than they deserve. I'm sick of anyone saying that Obama needs to cow-tow to them. They need to get on board or get out of the way.

The last time I checked, Barack went out of his way to be gracious to Hillary during the primaries, Hillary didn't. She took it there during the primary, and reveled in the kitchen sink strategy against Barack. She signed up for the rules at the beginning of the game, but when she realized she was losing yelled to the high heavens how "unfair" the process was...you know, the same process that she signed up for and her campaign strategist created (i.e. Harold Ickes). And I guess this point bears repeating, but she had no problem with hiring and retaining a campaign strategist that wanted to portray Barack as un-American or the "other". That goes above and beyond her statements that he wasn't qualified for the job.

Now McCain wants to act like he is defending Hillary's honor? This man gets more disgusting as each day passes. This is the same McCain that made an inappropriate joke about Chelsea Clinton. This is the same McCain that laughed, and said, "good question" when one of his supporters asked how he was going to "beat the Bitch" in reference to Hillary. So lets stop the histrionics. McCain doesn't give a rats ass about Hillary Clinton or her supporters. He, like these other Republican strategist, are just interested in continuing this divided Democrat strategy to mask his own weaknesses.

Oh, and Hillary does not have a lock on working class voters. Nor does she have a lock on relevant experience to the VP slot. The fact that people think that she should automatically entitled to anything confirms my belief that the presidency is up for sale. You know NMP, I had issues with Biden, but the one thing I believed, from the moment he stepped out on that stage - HE WON'T TRY AND DOUBLECROSS OBAMA.

I totally agree with both of you. I agree that Biden has finally been rewarded for all his hard work, and I agree that he won't try to poison O so he can step into the presidency, as would Mr. & Mrs. Manchurian candidate.

I can barely take anymore of the democratic public back biting. I really believe that a lot of it is fueled by racism. Some of these people just can't wrap their little minds around the thought of a Black person out smarting the system they set up to maintain their power. O won without their permission. They continue to shout for him to get back in his place. I pray that he wins. I think there are people who will do everything in their power to give him an unsuccessful presidency, but in part, he is the pioneer who is paving the way for people of color who will come after him. We can look forward to race/ethnicity and gender being a non-issue in future political campaigns. God uses people that way, and sometimes they don't get to pick. Hillary wanted it to be her. Our children will stand on O's shoulders just like he stands on Jesse Jackson's and Shirley Chisholm's.

I agree with all of you. No matter what anyone says, Obama has helped galvanize a movement---people are so involved in this year's race than ever before. Obama has ran THE BEST campaign, OUT-RAISED any other candidate, even when the media out-right gives him enormous negative coverage. Even these so-called "die-hard" HIllary supporters cannot answer why she still, after securing "18 million supporters" cannot pay off her damn debt. Hell, all those supporters ( who we still hear about) have to do is send her ass $1 and help put away her debt. This is about a documentary coming on HBO.

The film's images rotate like a Who's Who in Black America. Did you know that Slash from Guns N' Roses was black? Or that the former president of Planned Parenthood was black? Or that as a child Richard Parsons burned his family's house to the ground? Or that James Brown was Al Sharpton's personal hero?

I always wondered about Slash. He plays with so much soul and, of course, the hair. I just figured he was a cool dude. Now he is a cool dude and black.

i don't know how "cool" he is now, but he was a self-loathing coward in the 80s. guns 'n' roses put out some of the most racist, homophobic music during that era... yet he said nothing, and participated. i guess slash was getting paid...

as for faye wattleton (of planned parenthood fame), she is a serious "coon for clinton" to borrow rikyrah's term. she isn't quite as vocal as some, but she does her slightly under-the-radar anti-barack stuff nonetheless.

I like Guns and Roses. Maybe I never listened that close the lyrics, although I thought I had a lot of them memorized. Sweet Child o Mine, Welcome to the Jungle, Paradise City and November Rain are still in my iPod.

There was one song that caused a lot of controversy that Slash spoke out against written by Axle Rose but I wouldn't say that they spent the 80s and 90s putting out racist or homophobic music.

I just really like the way Slash plays the guitar.

The lines have become so blurred with "journalists" and "writers" of news because they are trying to offer their opinions in a news piece versus developing a great news piece with the fact-- as a way of competing with commentators???
