I listened to an interview on NPR's All Things Considered (I think) with Joey Cheek. They talked about one of the “Lost Boys” of Sudan being the flag-bearer for the US team. Cheek said how proud he was of the American team and they spoke for awhile about the significance of it. I was moved by the story, especially since I'm in the middle of reading (finally) Dave Eggers 'What is the What' story about one of the Lost Boys.

Wonderful. Our athletes should give China and the IOC hell during the entire Olympics. They had NO BUSINESS allowing China to host the Olympics with its awful human rights record. They allowed China to be a showcase when China only had to *promise* to do better. Not surprisingly, China has changed not one iota and won't until the world begins to divest.

Nothing, NOTHING gets between the US and a dollar, not genocide, not human rights, not drugs, not terrorism.
