Mrs. Young might not have appreciated her husband having to take the fall for John Edwards;

Elizabeth Edwards might want revenge on John for putting himself over her, leaving her alone to campaign while she sits at home waiting to die, leaving her sick at home with two very young children, tipping out on her with his mistress of two years.

Elizabeth Edwards would have more access to John's comings and goings than Mrs. Young. She could have found out by leaning on one of the campaign staffers (because the low level staffer ALWAYS knows what's going on) or a nanny or maid. Peons always know what's up.

Like I said, Elizabeth Edwards may have gotten the ultimate revenge on John by destroying the thing he loves more than her: his political career.
