It's a clear political trap, set by accident or on purpose. The Obama campaign should ignore it. Only the McCain campaign could benefit, once the general media picks up the story. McCain operatives, as we all know, already wallow in the glow of that so-called “race card” fiasco.

Rasmussen actually asked people:

As for Obama’s comment, 53% of white voters saw it as racist, as did 44% of African-Americans and 61% of all other voters.

So who was racist?

Unaffiliated voters, by a five-to-one margin, said the McCain ad was not racist. By a much narrower 50% to 38% margin, unaffiliateds viewed Obama’s comment as racist.

Perhaps the press and the lunatic lefty bloggers will stop now. They are knifing their own candidate by screaming about this.

Obama's recent attempt to play the race card against John McCain hasn't succeeded. Democratic primary voters responded like Pavlov's dogs to claims of victimhood and race-baiting but the rest of the population is inclined to weigh the merits. Since McCain has not come close to attacking Obama on racial grounds, Obama's use of the race card fell flat. Obama will have to campaign on the issues, and that his efforts to distract voters by crying “wolf” on race won't succeed.

It's not about turning him into a racist, it's about putting the truth out there. Somehow McCain has been skating by and no one EVER questions what he says/does.

It's a bit suspect that the only reporter asked to leave was the Black one, and then when someone else stood up for him, they were asked to leave too.
