With all due respect, I can't write anymore on that issue. In short, I thought the speech was inappropriate because I felt that Obama was talking to white people, not black people. We were just props in the pulpit. He was pandering and it really does not matter whether some things he said were true. Black folks don't need a weatherman to know which way the wind blows.

Further, when Obama spoke to the National Council of La Raza he did not talk about public school drop out rates among Hispanics, or teen pregnancy or about Latino youth who are involved in drugs and gang violence. He told them they were an “aspirational community.”

Final point: On a personal note I simply resented hearing this b.s. from him on Fathers Day. My late father, paternal and maternal grandfathers and great-grandfathers, great uncles and uncles got up everyday and did what they could to take care of their families. In addition, my wife and I adopted three black children out of foster care long past our child rearing years because, in part, we wanted to give something back to our community. Obama and the people who supported that Fathers Day speech could put it where the sun don't shine as far as I am concerned.

Jack, all jokes aside, they skipped the questions and are providing the answers by dredging up everything and all things “black” they could find to display through media to the voting public. It's another “guilt by association” tactic.

Now tell me what did Obama do when Miss Hillary told him to reject and denounce Farrakhan then turned her azz around and accepted Adelfa Callejo's support.

Did he tell Tim Russert in that debate to not hold him to a standard other candidates aren't held to?

What about the “preacher problems” him and McCain was having? Did he say anything about the double-standard?

When he was asked about the Cherokee Freedman? Did he say, “How come you're not asking the other candidates?”

Hell, nawl. He's FINALLY doing that just like it took him a long azz time to stand up for his wife and I won't even mention how long it took him to stand up for the people at Trinity.

But honestly, he might as well. As far as I'm concerned “post-racial” was the biggest gaffe because now, when race comes up the white folk can holla that people are not following in Obama's (the black man) vision of a “post-racial society” and now [liberal] white folk have the perfect excuse to think racism doesn't exist, or moreover that it's not as bad as it really seems.

I really don't understand how Black people don't see that bringing up racial topics hurts, not helps Obama. The truth of the matter is yes, I felt that the whole renounce and reject situation was absolutely ridiculous, as well as the hard working white people comment. But Obama didn't have to say anything. For people who were paying attention, it was further evidence that something was amiss with the Clinton campaign. If he had spoken out about every racial slight that HRC threw his way, don't people think for a minute that he would have been accused of playing the victim, and yes, even the race card? Which would have hurt him. People just don't think sometimes.

You have to work smarter, not harder. By the time that HRC got around to the hard working white people comment, Obama didn't need to say a word because plenty of people called her out on it, and it made her look bad.

Obama has been on the tightrope about race since the primary began, but apparently some Black people want him to walk the tightrope and do back flips and jumps.

we already know what would have happened had obama called HRC out on every single slight her campaign offered up. because SHE did it.

I know that many of her and her supporter's claims were legit, but when the focus of your campaign is whining about the other side, you come across as weak. That's not “leaderly.”

Look at the trouble Hillary had with it as a white woman and imagine if the black man's campaign did this directly. There would have been zero tolerance.

That's why WE had to do it with the wiki and other tools.

Thank you; I don't either. He's gonna need something like 40% of the white vote to beat McCain and every time his race is mentioned he goes lower in the polls because people who'd not thought about it before suddenly question their logic in voting for him. Eugene Robinson recently suggested that it wouldn't take long before the comments came about Obama not being black enough. Thing is, though … he expected those comments out of the McCain camp and not the black community.

There's not tension in here. Don't you get it? We're only making the rightwing think that we're bickering so they can get the false sense of security that their tactics are working to divide us all the while we'll be more unified than ever in making sure their Dangerous Puppet won't get into the White House to pillage more sovereign nations and savage the lives of more colored people.

Ha! No matter what anyone says…I think we'll all support Barack, even if he spits in our eye. And for those who can vote, they'll still vote for him.

Questions for Sen. Obama:

If your wife hates white people so much, why does she put “Just 4 Me” in your daughters' hair? Is she trying to be white? Does she hate white people because she can't be white?

Will Michelle be redecorating the Oval Office in Red, Black and Green?

What is your furniture like? Is is black laquer and is all the plastic still on it?

Will you be putting wooden forks and spoons on the walls?

What will you be serving at State dinners? Will you be serving arugula or collard greens?

Why are your lips so black?

Why won't you send your children to DC Public Schools? Don't you think the President should send their children to public schools to signify their support for public education?

Did you run for the Presidency so you could get free public housing?

Is Michelle familiar with public housing? Don't you think you and your family living in the White House is a form of welfare?

A couple of points:
1. Black people do not have a “mediocre voting record” as someone above noted. Black people are actually more likely to vote than their white counterparts when you take poverty and education into consideration.

2. If Barack Obama is running for President of Black America, then black people should be as critical of him as any other Democratic candidate. Further Obama himself should refrain from talking about black people to whites (as per the Father's Day speech PTC referenced), UNLESS he is giving the same speech to, I don't know…the banking community.
