Obama has more to lose by going negative since he called negative attacts, 'distractions' and 'old politics.'

Dems think Kerry did not do enough to fight back and they do not want to make that 'mistake' again. But the whole campaign taking a decidedly negative turn runs absolutely counter to Obama's MAIN message.

But the question better asked and answered is: 'Which candidate views this country, views the issues and the world, for the most part, like I do?'

IMO, that is the main question both candidates have to answer.

Democrats are critical of anything that Republicans do that give off the appearance of impropriety. We heard this phrase over and over during the Reagan and first Bush's administrations as a justification for all sorts of hearings into possible malfeasance. It didn't matter if someone had actually done something wrong, just if it seemed fishy to the American people.

But when it comes to Democrats, and Obama/Biden'08, the American people have been asked to overlook Obama's personal and political connections with Rezko, Wright, and Ayers. Asked to overlook a nexus of cronyism at UC Medical Center. Asked to overlook Obama's thin record of legislative accomplishments. Asked to overlook a lack of executive and foreign policy experience. And now, overlook Biden.

McCain has never taken an earmark. Both Obama and Biden have doled out our tax dollars to special interests and Chicago cronies.

Less and less, Obama looks like the candidate of real hope and change.

He hopes voters can overlook the fact that he 'plays the game' as well as longtime Washington insider Biden (who, BTW is really from Scranton, PA and not OF Washington because he commutes daily).

Good luck with that.

Baltimore, MD is a metaphor for Biden's candidacy. Baltimore's Waterfront is a nice facade for the city–wealthy-rich-gentrified…but a few blocks back from the waterfront is one of this country's murder capitals. So, Biden's candidacy may look good on the surface, but it's rife with opportunities to be…unimpressed, uninspired, and unmotivated.

I remain unimpressed with this choice. I've lost the excitement and anticipation that I initially had for watching the convention.
