That is why I was so inspired by Kucinich's speech. “Wake Up America” should be the rallying cry of modern Democrats. The vast majority of my friends who are Republicans have been quietly frustrated with the party for years. At the end of the day, Republicans like to balance their checkbook. The current debt in place, as well as the cementation of Socialized Capitalism that is happening under the Bush administration, has disillusioned most of the Republicans I know. The polarization of the political state of America has helped Repugnantcans. It allows people to link personal identity with political party, as opposed to personal beliefs with political party.

*It is only out of loyalty that most of them stay with the party*

It is not because they believe in the actions taking place in the name of Republicanism. If we move forward with this in mind, we will become more appealing to people who are right of center; if only because the Republican Party itself is not addressing these issues. This is a golden moment for Democrats. Even progressives like me (not all of us mind you) are biting our tongues at the Center movement of the Democratic Party, because this is really our election to lose. We. Must. Be. Unified. That is the only way we will make it guys. Let’s get ‘em elected.
