I just canceled my subscription to the Globe for a host of reasons, mostly having to do with the environment, but one big reason is the second-rate columnists they employ. I found myself spending way too much time each morning getting pissed off at their second-rate punditry and third-rate grasp of reality. On the one hand, I'm annoyed to spend even one more minute reading about Joan here on JJP. On the other, I'm affirmed in my decision to cancel that rag.

There is a stream of thought, and I subscribe to it:

IF he had married Snowflake, he wouldn't have even made it to the U.S. Senate.
Not from the South Side of Chicago, he wouldn't have.

No way. No how.

Same thing for a Latino.

Not if he was trying to run from Illinois.

Now, if he had married a Beyonce/Halle Berry, he'd have gotten to the U.S. Senate, but she HAD to have had Michelle's background (humble beginnings, but done good). And, since he would have gotten to the Senate, he probably would be on the Presidential Path.

He never would be in the position to run for The Presidency IF he hadn't of joined Trinity. NOT because Trinity was some political hookup - I will repeat for the umpteenth time, that when Obama joined Trinity, it was NOT the church for Political Expediency in Chicago. Him being under the spiritual guidance of Jeremiah Wright is important. Because Wright was no 'go along to get along' Prosperity Gospel Hustler. He believed truly in the social gospel teachings of Jesus, and Black Liberation.

What I cannot understand is why the MSM has not labeled McCain as being “too presumptious or presidential with his recent action on the Russia/Georgia conflict…trying to steal the spotlight from the sitting President…..in order to score political points. Once again, can you imagine if Obama acted in this “presumptious” manner? Where are the talking heads in the media?
the blatant double-standards is just pissing me off! Gosh! Once again, I have to reach for my blood pressure tablets! LOL!

Rikyrah, then the question becomes: Had Obama married white or a light skinned Latino (like they do Denzel in most of his movies), would he be where he is? Or would there be resentment from both whites and blacks? This is a conversation my [blck] friends and I had the other day. I've argued all along that if he was married to a 'Heather' out there like Laura B., and belonged to the Episcopal Church that he'd win hands down. My friends disagree. What says you, and the rest of the JJP community?

Here's the other thing – Obama was accused of being “too presumptuous” with his overseas tour. Now that Russia and Georgia are fighting, he's criticized for being on vacation instead of dealing with the situation. HELLO!! He's not the president! (Who is also on vacation, BTW). Now, if he had been in Washington, dealing with the Russia-Georgia situation, you'd hear the “presumptuous” meme again, maybe with calls of treason as well (as Jesse Jackson and Jimmy Carter have gotten when they've gotten involved in foreign affairs).

Meanwhile, despite all these criticisms of his “elitist” trip to Hawaii, you KNOW that if he had gone somewhere else, he'd be accused of “throwing his white grandmother under the bus again” for not visiting her. Damned if you do, damned if you don't is right.
