Fifty thousand is correct. They are a handful of people who will never vote for Obama. We should just let them be and if Hillary ever runs where we can vote, just vote other.

If anyone votes for Hill, we should take names and then let them face the consequences.

I heard on the radio that PUMA reps also support McCain. I'm very suspicious of that group. Also heard that they've raised very little $$, like 50,000. I feel they are being hyped by the MSM. I find much in the linked article reassuring, actually, and that half of House Dem delegates might vote for Hillary is just one rep's speculation. Just MVHO.

First off there is no possible way that half the house votes for Clinton during the roll call. It won't happen. But honestly why not honor Hillary? The women did garner 18 million votes! For the sake of unity I believe this is the right decision. Perhaps her supporters who are still reluctant towards Obama will give him a fresh look after graciously allowing Hillary her moment.

As someone already indicated, I'm not gonna worry about any of this because Obama and his team seem to know what they're doing. Doesn't look to me as though the folks for Hillary have much going for them. They've raised $50,000. Compare that to what the Obama campaign raises each MONTH. How many supporters do you think? As much as I hate to say it, without money they're impotent, and that's exactly how they appeared in an interview with MSNBC. Check out the video at Balloon Juice.

I could be wrong. I could very well be wrong about this.

But based on experience and observations during the primaries, I have developed a trust in Senator Obama's wisdom and judgment with regard to how to deal with the Clinton Thing (among others).

I trust that if he agreed to this, it's the right thing to do, strategically.

But ... only the actual situation (the convention itself and its outcomes, which may unfold over time or be obvious right away) will say.

Obama needs to stop pandering to the Clintons for three MAJOR reasons:

1) He further run the risk of alienating his base who has been upset by his "shift" to the center and constant flip-flop positions.

2) He provides the Clintons...via their supporters with the opportunity to potentially steal the show and...the nomination from him.

3) It makes him look like a potentially weak President.

But that boss is right– Clinton is putting the entire party in an awkward position. Now people who initially supported her are forced either to vote for her and appear to diminish Obama's support or to vote for Obama and risk the wrath of Clinton supporters. If she could have checked her ego at the door, we could have at least put on a show of unity.
