What did Jesse say about Obama that got picked up on the hot mic at Fox? I've heard the apology from Jesse, the acknowledgement from the Obama camp and then Jessie Jr. calling his dad out. Does anyone know what sparked this whole...uh...fight?

Funny, if Rev. Wright were to speak at Invesco Field to "tell all" about Barack Obama or if the Michelle Whitey tape was actually real and to be premiered at Invesco Field, they'd happily and cheerfully find the money in the budget to cover that. But a non news event like Obama, the first person of color in the history of the US, accepting the presidential nomination of a major political party? That's a "non news story."

Obama had pointed out some facts, and apparently those facts get in the way of Jesse’s MO of bashing and blaming whites.

A week after the interview was taped; Barack and Michelle realize what a dumb mistake it was, i.e. exposing their children to national TV. In it, Barack gets nagged...again.

But FAUX SPEWS has the outrageous audacity to go after Mrs. Obama. They haven't even mentioned cindy. WHAT IS THIS ABOUT??? Oh, she's white. My bad!

We'll have plenty of time to take on Fox Noise, but Black folks need to do some house cleaning first. We are sitting by while Kos and other white Liberals are attacking Senator Obama and ignoring John McCain. You even have Clinton supporters trying to organize a coupe at the convention. We should be demanding to know why suddenly their is a liberal litmus test for the black nominee that white Democratic nominees have not been subjected to! Moreover, we should be letting them no in no uncertain terms they can try that shit if they want to!

We've been allowing white Liberals to take our vote for granted for decades. We supported Bill Clinton and the Democrats through 3 strikes laws; the Omnibus crime bill which resulted in far more erosion of the 4th amendment and defendent's rights than telecom immunity; Bill Clinton overseeing the execution of a retarded black man; qualified black candidates with aspirations for state-wide office being push aside time-and-time again for white candidates, including white women. Despite all of this, black folks have shown the political maturity to support the Democratic Party even when the Party hasn't supported us! And now white folks like you want to say they are not willing to make the same compromise for a black candidate?!

Senator Obama WON the nomination, and he has EVERY right to set his own agenda, just like every previous white candidate has done. There has not been a white democratic nominee that hasn't taken more conservative positions to win, including Bill Clinton who was FAR more conservative on social issues than Senator Obama.

Why are black bloggers sitting back while they are trying to make him bow down?

But to be fair, it does NOT ignore John McCain. In fact, he breaks more stories than the MSM does on his gaffes and lies and crimes and abuses and flip flops and everything else.

Totally random...I had a dream last night that it was Obama/Biden. The random part is I don't normally dream about the Democratic ticket and if I did Biden would not be the VP. Not that I don't think he is capable but my conscience mind always goes to Hagel or McCaskill. So maybe it can be chalked up to premonition.

On a different note my best friend who calls herself an Obama Mama (oh, the suburbs) insists it will be the Obama/Edwards Sexy Back Campaign '08. So you don't have to ask, no she is not white.

I'm going with Biden, Sebelius and Bayh. Not necessarily in that order.

Me too. Webb was my # 2 choice. I'm disappointed that Claire McCaskill's candidacy didn't get any traction as she was my #1 choice.

My top 3 are Biden, Sebelius & Nunn.

CNN is still promoting hillary.

I don't want to see Sam Nunn anywhere near the ticket.

Biden? Okay. Sebellius? Sure. Napolitano is even better, though. And Claire McCaskill needs to stay in the Senate, but she's terrific.

I still think Bill Richardson aka Judas would be a good runningmate.

My out of the box choice is Adam Smith from Washington state.

I love Richardson, but don't think the general public would be able to endure that much color on a ticket.

Sam Nunn is a main architect of Don't Ask, Don't Tell.

I have no respect for him. That's a deal breaker for me.

I'm not.

For one, Virginia needs him to stay in place in the Senate, lest a fool like Macaca Allen or Gilmore get (back) in there.

Two, Webb is kind of volatile. And volatile is not what Obama needs IMO. A pitbull, yes. A volatile person? Nope, because then Obama would spend most of his time apologizing for what Webb did or said.

So I thank Webb for preventing a President George Allen, but he needs to stay his ass in the Senate right where he is.

Just read an article at NYTimes about a UofC Professor and his paper on 'sounding black' and wage inequality.

Thought it was poignant considering how we're watching Obama personify the inherent theory behind the research.

I think about this sometimes. I gave my children African names and I hope it will not be held against them. I hope they live up to the beauty of their names. I also see these names as being different than African-American names that some people make fun of as being ghetto (Ty'Quaisia and Nahoje'). Many Africans immigrants are smart and ambitious people, and really want an education.

CNN is getting read to feature yet another story with Blacks portrayed as monkeys. Sigh.

He said that McCain was scheduled to appear on all the morning shows today. How convenient. The same day the Iranians test their missiles. I guess he wanted the "presidential" foreign policy soapbox.

But he wouldn't have it alone, despite his best efforts.

When the missile test story broke, Barack's people scheduled him to appear on the morning shows at the last minute to discuss the situation and have his own presidential moment.

Meantime, Bush is in Japan and hasn't appeared on any network.

Also today, an attack on a US consulate in Turkey has been attributed to Al Queada.

Also today, bin Laden's son's poorly produced video is getting more coverage (it's a month old according to one pundit). In it he says that Britain and the US must be eliminated (or some such).

If people doubt the wag-the-dog pure politics of this theater, then their weave is in too tight.

The only national polls in which McCain is leading Barack is among pet owners. Which made the ticker tape yesteday.

Is this whole situation in Iran heating up because Bush, et al, are somehow pushing for it? Would it benefit the Republicans to have this sort of international crisis---whether real or perceived?

I don't believe this one. The boy is alleged to be a teenager, but the voice is the voice of a child. They are turning up the theatrics.

As for the missle testing, I'm wondered if Iran is cooperating with the Cheney administration in some way. Aside from that, I guess they are feelin froggy. If I were Iran, I would be on the DL until after the US election. What did they gain by doing this? If they get their asses kicked by Isreal in the near future, they asked for it.

What do they gain?

Oh. I don't know. How about more US exports. You see, our administration is telling us that we need to economically sanction Iran and push it further into isolation. And yet we've been exporting all sorts of products to Iran. Including lots of cigarettes. When McCain heard about the cigarettes, he said with laughter, "Maybe we can kill them with cigarettes." He was just joking, of course. Ha ha.

As for the tape of bin Laden's son. It's a complete and total fabrication. It's not the voice of a 16-year-old, to be sure. And it looks like an animated cartoon at best.

But hey, there was a guy arrested in New York today who scaled the Times building to hang some sign or some such that was to remind us of the threat of Al Quaeda.

The desperate Republicans and the Military Industrial Complex haven't grasped the notion of less is more. When all these "events" are piled on top of each other, it's clear we're being played. Perhaps distracted from something else that's important.

Monday, McCain said in a town hall that Social Security is a disgrace.

Now, imagine if this were to be covered by the MSM. Imagine if McCain's words were placed IN CONTEXT in an ad and flooded the airwaves in Florida and Pennsylvania, two battleground states with loads of seniors.

Have you heard about this huge gaffe yet? And the press was sitting right there. It hasn't uttered a word about it.

Bet you heard that Barack said he won't allow the media to interview his children again, didn't you?
