Did anybody catch Brian Williams on MSNBC just now?

He said that McCain was scheduled to appear on all the morning shows today. How convenient. The same day the Iranians test their missiles. I guess he wanted the “presidential” foreign policy soapbox.

But he wouldn't have it alone, despite his best efforts.

When the missile test story broke, Barack's people scheduled him to appear on the morning shows at the last minute to discuss the situation and have his own presidential moment.

Meantime, Bush is in Japan and hasn't appeared on any network.

Also today, an attack on a US consulate in Turkey has been attributed to Al Queada.

Also today, bin Laden's son's poorly produced video is getting more coverage (it's a month old according to one pundit). In it he says that Britain and the US must be eliminated (or some such).

If people doubt the wag-the-dog pure politics of this theater, then their weave is in too tight.

The only national polls in which McCain is leading Barack is among pet owners. Which made the ticker tape yesteday.

Just read an article at NYTimes about a UofC Professor and his paper on 'sounding black' and wage inequality.

Thought it was poignant considering how we're watching Obama personify the inherent theory behind the research.

Referendum on Obama, My Ass

I'm not.

For one, Virginia needs him to stay in place in the Senate, lest a fool like Macaca Allen or Gilmore get (back) in there.

Two, Webb is kind of volatile. And volatile is not what Obama needs IMO. A pitbull, yes. A volatile person? Nope, because then Obama would spend most of his time apologizing for what Webb did or said.

So I thank Webb for preventing a President George Allen, but he needs to stay his ass in the Senate right where he is.

Oh. I don't know. How about more US exports. You see, our administration is telling us that we need to economically sanction Iran and push it further into isolation. And yet we've been exporting all sorts of products to Iran. Including lots of cigarettes. When McCain heard about the cigarettes, he said with laughter, “Maybe we can kill them with cigarettes.” He was just joking, of course. Ha ha.

As for the tape of bin Laden's son. It's a complete and total fabrication. It's not the voice of a 16-year-old, to be sure. And it looks like an animated cartoon at best.

But hey, there was a guy arrested in New York today who scaled the Times building to hang some sign or some such that was to remind us of the threat of Al Quaeda.

The desperate Republicans and the Military Industrial Complex haven't grasped the notion of less is more. When all these “events” are piled on top of each other, it's clear we're being played. Perhaps distracted from something else that's important.

Monday, McCain said in a town hall that Social Security is a disgrace.

Now, imagine if this were to be covered by the MSM. Imagine if McCain's words were placed IN CONTEXT in an ad and flooded the airwaves in Florida and Pennsylvania, two battleground states with loads of seniors.

Have you heard about this huge gaffe yet? And the press was sitting right there. It hasn't uttered a word about it.

Bet you heard that Barack said he won't allow the media to interview his children again, didn't you?

Now, imagine if Barack had said that Social Security was a disgrace.

We'll have plenty of time to take on Fox Noise, but Black folks need to do some house cleaning first. We are sitting by while Kos and other white Liberals are attacking Senator Obama and ignoring John McCain. You even have Clinton supporters trying to organize a coupe at the convention. We should be demanding to know why suddenly their is a liberal litmus test for the black nominee that white Democratic nominees have not been subjected to! Moreover, we should be letting them no in no uncertain terms they can try that shit if they want to!

We've been allowing white Liberals to take our vote for granted for decades. We supported Bill Clinton and the Democrats through 3 strikes laws; the Omnibus crime bill which resulted in far more erosion of the 4th amendment and defendent's rights than telecom immunity; Bill Clinton overseeing the execution of a retarded black man; qualified black candidates with aspirations for state-wide office being push aside time-and-time again for white candidates, including white women. Despite all of this, black folks have shown the political maturity to support the Democratic Party even when the Party hasn't supported us! And now white folks like you want to say they are not willing to make the same compromise for a black candidate?!

Senator Obama WON the nomination, and he has EVERY right to set his own agenda, just like every previous white candidate has done. There has not been a white democratic nominee that hasn't taken more conservative positions to win, including Bill Clinton who was FAR more conservative on social issues than Senator Obama.

Why are black bloggers sitting back while they are trying to make him bow down?

I guess the liberal whites feel they made him, and they can break him. Because without them he never would have gotten as far as he did, so he betta toe the line.

Is this whole situation in Iran heating up because Bush, et al, are somehow pushing for it? Would it benefit the Republicans to have this sort of international crisis—whether real or perceived?

Funny, if Rev. Wright were to speak at Invesco Field to “tell all” about Barack Obama or if the Michelle Whitey tape was actually real and to be premiered at Invesco Field, they'd happily and cheerfully find the money in the budget to cover that. But a non news event like Obama, the first person of color in the history of the US, accepting the presidential nomination of a major political party? That's a “non news story.”
