Menz

Their leaving, their ability to stay or walk is their currency. I sense that menz don't want that currency devalued. That currency can buy a whole lotta sexx and power. If women forget about the menz, propel themselves forward so that whether the menz stay or leave, their children will be provided for, then the currency of menz is devalued….then leaving or staying becomes it's own reward unattached to the well-being of children and their mothers.

The Alpha males were visibly uncomfortable with that proposition.

Unity: Journalists of Color Inc. said Obama will speak to the convention Sunday morning July 27 in what is expected to be his first national appearance after returning from his travel to Europe and the Middle East.

Unity said it had also invited the presumptive Republican candidate, Arizona Sen. John McCain, to speak at the quadrennial convention as well. It had not able to secure his commitment as of late Saturday, Unity added.

Krugman was responding to a questioner who had stated that the media was “in the pocket” of the “government.” Krugman pointed out that this was hardly the case when Clinton was in the White House and would be proven again when Obama took over. “Get ready for it,” he warned.

Krugman also said that there were relatively few prominent academic liberals such as himself because the liberal think tanks only get a fraction of the money that goes to the conservative ones. “There are more rightwing billionaires,” he declared.

It's funny for me to watch Solidad talk about black men when she is married to a white man. I have no problem with interracial marriage, and I've dated my share of white guys but I think hosting a program about race in America that is somewhat judging black men when you are half black and married to a white man is, well…maybe she isn't the best host.

My brother's wife's (who is white) brother is really good friends with her husband and spends a lot of time with them. I remember after the wedding we had an argument about how she was half Black and half Irish while he always though she was Jewish.

Anyway, she is an interesting choice for the host.

Whoopi is the one who needs to listen…shut that big mouth for a change, drop that hateful attitude, and actually listen. Denial and ‘finger-pointing’ isn’t going to cut it anymore, IMHO.

i wonder if she and suzanne are related. i love julianne malveaux—very outspoken, astute woman! i don't know if she supports obama or not, but i always thought she'd make a great surrogate for him re. the economy. the only thing is her close ties with the nation of islam.

caligirl: YEP!! She just keeps saying that number to(1) make herself feel good and (2) impress the superdelegates, her friends, supporters, the world, etc. As you can see, I'm still NOT convinced that she is not planning something for the DNC Convention.

They have the currency, it's not as valued by those who leave…why should men care about that currency? (I'm not trying to be obtuse, just playing devil's advocate) Emotional currency with a child is not associated with the availability of sex. I think there has to be some reward or desire. What is the benefit to a man of raising his child?
