Just this past weekend, the first ever conference by, for and about bloggers of color went down in Atlanta. I couldn’t make it, but a lot of great bloggers did. Gina McCauley of What About Our Daughters? has a great video interviewing some of the bloggers in attendance.

The video features Tamera from Black Life by GLAM, Necole Bitchie from NecoleBitchie.com and The Urban Blogger, AJ from CommonSense Media, Chris Raab from Afro Netizen, Elisa Camahort Page from BlogHer, and James Harris.

Eagerly anticipating the “views” (videos and black perspectives) from the 2008 Democratic National Convention next month. Loving how you and your fellow brown bloggers are using your talents to publish information on the Internet focused on important issues facing all Americans, and colored Americans in particular.
I have a few discretionary dollars to donate to your efforts. Remind me of how I can put my money where my month is.

At the UNITY (journalists convention) in Chicago, Tom Joyner said you all had nothing to do with the response to Jena or getting out the full story on Rev. Wright. It was he and radio, getting the word out to bammas…

I was blessed to be in attendance at the BWB Conference in Atlanta last weekend. It was da bomb diggity bomb! Truly a remarkable event with folks from all points on the political and social spectrum.
Methinks that the the 2009 BWB Conference will end up being in Dallas. There were a number of Black bloggers from that city making a pitch to host it.
Anyhow, I hope that JJP and others will make plans to attend it next year!
