If I could ask Barack Obama one question, it'd be this: What lesson should the American people take from the Russia-Aghanistan war of the 1980s?

If Barack keeps it up, Afghanistan will become his Lyndon Johnson's Vietnam and/or George W. Bush's Iraq.

I forgot to mention that if not for Bush's own last-minute scheduling of his lame press avail about the economy, this speech may have received more coverage.

They do them in the morning to give the talking heads time to come up with talking points for the evening news shows, plus the morning stuff is seen overseas in the evening.

It was a good speech, but we need more policy and more Cabinet members named and vetted, because McCain wont be able to do keep up

B-Serious, you are absolutely right. Obama needs to start giving speeches in the evening, just after the evening news and beyond. Let voters, most of whom work during the day, hear him firsthand.

You should get this suggestion to the Obama campaign.

McCain moved up his own foreign policy speech by two days to get into the media battle.

And he flip flopped on Afghanistan in the process.

Barack's speech was comprehensive and detailed and very smart.

People need to see it for themselves because the clips and the "analysis" don't do it justice.
