Agree with your take heartandflowers.I can see Olympia Snowe and Arlen Specter seeing the writing on the wall ,if they dont caucus with the dems. then I bet my last dollar they will fall in line with President Obama .November cannot come soon enough

Well this is what is called strategy folks. Let's not allow ourselves to be derailed by focusing on one or two issues. We have to see the big picture and try to get as many people working together as possible. We won't agree on everything but we can certainly find enough common ground for an effective coalition.

Yes great post--just one minor correction. Only 60 votes are needed for cloture in the Senate.

Great post, Rikyrah. You beat me to the punch on that redistricting story.

The redistricting article said that something like 10 Democratic gubenatorial seats will be up for grabs because of term limits and/or retirement. That's a great opportunity for progressives to try and get their hands on some of those vacant offices (start now). Obama's campaign (and the grassroots that made it) has presented a pre-packaged template for the 2010 races.

Both parties know that they're looking at the POTENTIAL for a paradigm shift. I just hope we can avoid the circular firing squad before we get there.

I dont think we need 61 to kick LIE- bermann to the curb.With 57 to 60 whatever rethugs are left will go to the dems column like when Reagan came into office a host of democratic senators shifted to the dark side just so they can have some relevance.Either way quisling Joe is history come Nov.
